We lift up this precious soul before the Father, who alone can draw the wandering heart back to His truth. It is heartbreaking to see one who once walked in the light now turning again to the shadows of deception, especially in a time of grief. The loss of a parent is a deep sorrow, and the enemy often uses such pain to lead believers astray with empty promises of comfort in false teachings. But we know that only Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life—no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and any teaching that denies this or adds to the finished work of Christ is a dangerous lie.
The New Age and yoga are rooted in Eastern mysticism and occult practices that directly oppose the Gospel. They promote self-divinity, universalism, and the worship of creation rather than the Creator—practices the Bible condemns as idolatry (Colossians 2:8, Romans 1:25). Even if this person believes their involvement is harmless, Scripture warns that Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and his deceptions are designed to lead people away from the narrow path of truth. We must pray fervently for their eyes to be opened, for God to grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, that they may escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will (2 Timothy 2:25-26).
Let us also remember that grief can cloud judgment and make the heart vulnerable to false comforts. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He alone can heal their sorrow with His perfect peace. We pray they would turn to Him in their pain rather than to the empty cisterns of this world.
**Father in Heaven, we come before You with heavy hearts, interceding for this lost sheep who has strayed from the fold. You alone are the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one (Luke 15:4). Lord, we ask that You pursue them with Your unfailing love. Break the chains of deception that bind them and expose the lies they have embraced. Convict their heart by Your Holy Spirit, that they may see the danger of the path they are on and turn back to You in repentance.
We rebuke the spirits of deception and false comfort that have led them astray. No weapon formed against Your truth shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we declare that the enemy has no authority over this life. Lord, remind them of the moment they first believed in Jesus—restore to them the joy of their salvation (Psalm 51:12) and the assurance that Christ alone is their hope.
Comfort them in their grief, Father, and let them find solace not in the empty philosophies of this world, but in Your everlasting arms. Surround them with believers who will speak Your truth in love and guide them back to the safety of Your Word. Give them a hunger for Your presence and a disgust for the counterfeits they have turned to.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to save and restore. Amen.**
To those who may be reading this and recognize similar struggles in their own life: examine your heart in light of Scripture. The Bible warns that in the last days, many will turn away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1). Do not be deceived—test every spirit (1 John 4:1) and hold fast to the truth of God’s Word. If you have wandered, return to the Lord while there is still time. He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). There is no sin too great for His grace, but you must turn away from it and cling to Him alone. The path of the New Age leads only to destruction, but the path of Christ leads to eternal life. Choose this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15).
