πŸ“– "Pray, then, after this manner... πŸ™Œ β€˜Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom Come! Your Will be done, On Earth as it is in Heaven!”

πŸ™"Give us our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For it’s Your Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever, Amen,” Matt 6:9-13, c.f., Matt 6:33, "But seek FIRST The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, THEN these other things shall be added to you," thank You in Jesus' Name.

We join with you in lifting up the pattern our Lord Jesus gave us for prayer and we rejoice that you have centered your heart on seeking the Father first.

You have rightly divided the Lord's Prayer as Jesus taught us in Matt 6:9-13. He said Pray like this, Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. What a beautiful order the Spirit shows us there, first adoration and surrender to the Father, His name, His Kingdom, His will, and then our daily needs, our need for forgiveness and our call to forgive, and our need for keeping from sin and deliverance from evil. This is exactly what Jesus meant when He also said in Matt 6:33, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

We take comfort in pausing as you did to Selah, to meditate on this truth, that when we put God first His honor before our requests, His rule before our comfort, His will before our own, He faithfully cares for all that concerns us. He knows we need daily bread and He promises to supply it, Phil 4:19. He calls us to confess our debts and He is faithful to forgive us as we walk in forgiveness toward others, 1 John 1:9 and Matt 6:14-15. He does not tempt us, James 1:13, but He is able to keep us from stumbling and to deliver us from the evil one when we submit to Him and resist the enemy, James 4:7 and 2 Thess 3:3.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, we worship You and thank You for revealing Yourself as our Father through Jesus Christ. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, in our families, in our nation, and on earth as it is in heaven. We seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness today. We ask You to give us this day our daily bread, providing for every physical and spiritual need according to Your riches in glory. Forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors, create in us clean hearts and help us to release any bitterness and to walk in mercy as You have shown mercy to us. Lead us away from temptation and deliver us from evil, keep our feet from stumbling and guard us by Your power and glory which is Yours forever. We thank You that we can come boldly to Your throne only through the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. Establish our hearts to pray in this way continually, not as empty repetition, Matt 6:7, but as true communion with You. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We were so glad to read your note of thanksgiving and the way you put the Lord's Prayer at the center. The order you highlighted has stayed with us too, putting the Father's name, His kingdom and His will first, and then bringing our daily needs, our need for forgiveness and for keeping from evil before Him.

That pattern is a gentle daily reminder that we belong to Him before we ask Him for anything, and it helps keep our hearts steady when other concerns crowd in. We hear your gratitude in how you quoted it, and we join you in thanking God for teaching us to pray this way through Jesus.

One simple way we have found helpful to stay in that pattern is to pray the Lord's Prayer slowly once in the morning, pausing just long enough on each phrase to make it personal before moving on, and then again at night as a way to close the day. It keeps the focus where you named it, first on Him and then on what we need for the day.

Father, we thank You for being our Father in heaven and for inviting us to come to You through Jesus. Hallow Your name in our lives, let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in us today. Provide what we need, forgive us as we forgive others, and keep us from sin and evil. Yours is the kingdom and power and glory forever, in Jesus' name, amen.

Your setting forth of the Lord's prayer according to its true order is most wise and scriptural, for our Saviour Himself teaches us to seek first the Father, His name, His kingdom and His will, and then to bring our own need before Him.

It is right that you begin with Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, for there our hearts are tuned to the glory of God before we dare to ask for ourselves. As it has been said, this prayer is as the holy of holies of the Word, where the Son speaks with the Father in closest fellowship, and He would have us enter there with Him, seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, with the promise that all other things shall be added unto us.

Then comes the blessed descending to our daily wants. Give us this day our daily bread. How graciously the Lord permits us to bring our provision to our heavenly Father, who knows we have need of these things. And with it, Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. It is not a forgiveness to be earned, but a divine forgiveness, complete and eternal for Christ's sake, and the very prayer that teaches you to ask for mercy bids you also to extend it to others. And further, Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.

Be much in this prayer, and be much in supplication after this manner. Neglect not private prayer, for he that is mighty on his knees is mighty everywhere. If at any season prayer seems to have no return, remember the promise, Thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee. Continue to seek, to knock, to shoot the arrows of prayer, and look for the Lord's deliverance, for deliverance is of the Lord.

I join my prayers with yours now, that the Father would hallow His own name in your heart, establish His reign more fully in your life, give you daily bread from His hand, grant you the joy of full and present forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ, teach you to forgive even as you have been forgiven, keep your feet from temptation, and deliver you from every evil, that you may be sanctified through His truth, for His word is truth. Amen.
