πŸ™"Give us our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For it’s Your Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever, Amen,” Matt 6:9-13, c.f., Matt 6:33, "But seek FIRST The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, THEN these other things shall be added to you," thank You in Jesus' Name.

[1] Jesus' Prayer He taught was an outline, summary of topics, a form or "pattern prayer." The following has been condensed from six reliable sources, is of much godly & personal value when sincerely prayed (not mindlessly repeated), but through serious consideration, understanding the weight of the petitions, ardently prayed, expecting answers, James 1:5-7, James 5:16-17...

***πŸ™Œ Our Father in Heaven, we first pause (reflect on Him with whom we are addressing as Father, The Holy One of Israel, and mostly as Gentiles at that, who loved us while we were yet sinners, strangers of the covenants and Scriptures, yes - even hostile in our minds -- and thank You. For all, but specifically for "loving the world (including us, me πŸ₯°) so much You gave Your Only-begotten Son, that by believing in him we may be spared perdition and rather freely gain eternal life, Jn 3:16. Thank You "Jesus showed us The Father -- Your Nature," Jn 14:9. Thank You for His shed blood and died on the cross for our sins, 1 Cor 15:3-4, burial, resurrection declaring both Him and us "not guilty" Rom 4:25, and ascension (adoption, enthronement, Ps 110:1), as Son-of-Man-in-Power to pour out the Holy Spirit of Adoption from on high, by which we call out, Abba, Father, Gal 4:6, proving we are heirs, Gal 4:7, since as many as received Jesus and believed on His Name are called Children of God, John 1:12-13, praying even with the same language of intimacy, Abba, i.e., "Daddy" or "Papa, etc" as Jesus used in time of impending crisis for deliverance in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Abba, Father," Mark 14:36.

πŸ™ Hallowed Be Your Name... May Your GRACIOUS and COMPASSIONATE NAME, Ex 34:6-7, get honor through our thoughts, words, deeds, speech, actions and reactions. May we honor and know You in every Name You have revealed about Yourself in The Scriptures -- Elohim, The Trinity, Beginning in Gen 1:1; The Name, Gen 4:26, El Elyon, God Most High, Gen 14:18, Adonai, Lord, Master, Gen 15:2; El Roi, The God Who Sees, Gen 16:13; El Shaddai, God Almighty, Gen 17:1; El Olam, The Everlasting God, Gen 21:33; Yahweh, The LORD, Jireh or Yireh, Our Provider, Gen 22:18; Healer, Peace, Shepherd, Righteousness, Presence, Sanctification, Our Rock, Fortress, Strong Tower, Etc... We honor and hallow ALL Your Titles, Attributes, Your Name! May Your Name not be used to curse or in vain, Ex 20:7, and may our lives and conduct cause it to be reverenced, not derided, Rom 2:24. May the world be enlightened or compelled to reverence Your ineffable Name and Your Christ's and May Your Glory cover the Earth as the waters cover the seas, Numbers 14:21, Ps 72:19, Isa 11:9, Hab 2:14, Phil 2:10-11...

πŸ™ May Your Kingdom Come to us & through us with FRUIT of The Holy Spirit, see Rom 14:17 on what the Kingdom is -- His Righteousness, peace and joy, therefore ALL the fruit is an extension of His Kingdom, from LOVE, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Gal 5:22-23, truth, humility & justice, Ps 45:4, contentment, Lk 3:14, 1 Tim 6:6, Heb 13:5, Phil 4:11-13, doing justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God, Micah 6:8. You desire mercy, not sacrifice, Hos 6:6. We ask for the GIFTS of The Spirit to be evident in us, our churches, families, and to Your people throughout the world, from ministry GIFTS to equip The Body of Christ through Your Gospel Officers until we reach unity in faith and knowledge of The Son of God and the mature stature of Christ Himself, Eph 4:12-13, (which has not yet happened so such workers must of necessity still be present and are much needed, even required, apostles, (missionaries/church planters), prophets, (encouragers/exhorters/visionaries), evangelists, pastors and teachers), Eph 4:11-13, to The GIFTS of miracles (signs, wonders), healings, faith, prophecy, words of wisdom, knowledge, tongues, interpretation of such tongues, administration, leadership, giving, mercy, discerning of spirits, Rom 12:5-8, 1 Cor 12:4-11. POWER: Drive out demons by the finger of God, demonstrating The Kingdom of God, Lk 11:20, for The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power, 1 Cor 4:20. Mostly the POWER to live a Holy Life overflowing with LOVE for God and others, singing and making melody from "singing seminaries" and "the walking practice of evangelism" is the best fruit and sign of the Kingdom, Heb 12:4. ***We also want to ask for Jesus' Return, so we may experience a whole other realm, where we are redeemed, have peace with God, are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, are part of "New Creation" though only a "foretaste of the good things to come." The change our bodies will incur and all creation eagerly awaits is our hope in Romans 8 and latter Revelation and is where ALL of these things will be realized in a greater capacity and duration and God's Kingdom will have full expression once it's fully come on earth as it is heaven again -- the "not yet," -- "May Your Kingdom Come and Your Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven," Matt 6:10. May Jesus return and the Kingdom flourish, being fully manifest. Come quickly Lord Jesus, Rev 22:17, Rev 22:20.

πŸ™ May Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven -- Keeping in mind the Kingdom Coming, as described above, in differing degrees, the already and the not yet, we ask here in the already that we may know, submit to and do Your will for our lives individually (hearing His voice, Jn 10:27, being led by the Holy Spirit, Rom 8:14, as Jesus did during His time on earth, Phil 2:9-9, our whole lives be increasingly lived to please You, knowing the Trinity, living in Your presence moment by moment, and making You known as a by product, rejoicing in trials and weakness, as well as power demonstrations when it gives You glory, Mt 28:19-20, Rom 1:5, Rom 15:18. May we abide in Christ, with freedom to pray, and power to bear fruit, thereby making disciples, and thus proving we are disciples, John 15:7-8, might bear some fruit wherever we go, Rom 1:13, 1 Cor 9:2, 2 Cor 3:2-3, specifically by going, preaching faith in Jesus suffering and dying for our sins, repentance, baptism, forgiveness of sins and obedience to all that He commanded, and obedience to any personal directives, admonitions and restraints, being witnesses to these facts under His authority, commission by this union with Jesus through The Holy Spirit, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 24:46-48, Matt 28:19-20, John 20:21, Acts 1:8. May Your will be done on earth as You rule over the church and nations, Ps 22:28, and collectively as the church until You come to reward the righteous and recompense the wicked, 2 Cor 10:3-6, and arrive in fulness at the Return of Christ, Matt 24:30, Matt 25:31-32.

πŸ™ Give us Each Day our Daily Bread: Spiritual -- we can't live by bread alone but every Word of God, Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, Lk 4:4. Meet our spiritual, emotional, social, physical and financial needs mightily, Phil 4:19, so we can love You with all our heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances, Mk 12:30, and our neighbors, Mk 12:31, even the lost, Matt 9:36, and even enemies, Matt 5:44, as ourselves -- and see others as Christ, who looked beyond his own interests, to the interests of others, considering others as more important than we, Phil 2:1-5.

πŸ™ Forgive Our Debts as We Forgive Our Debtors... We confess we've sinned against You, Rom 3:23, 1 Jn 1:8, 1 Jn 1:10 (name specific sins and areas of ongoing struggles), and others, receive forgiveness, Lk 1:77, & pray FOR those who sin against us, (by name and specific offenses), asking they'd repent and be saved, Job 42:7-16, entrusting their souls to a faithful creator and recognizing it is He who alone who is in fact the one appointed both to save and to judge, Romans 12:9, 1 Pet 4:19.

πŸ™ Lead us Not into Temptation, but Deliver us from evil... Keep us from temptation and evil, Luke 11:4, sin, 1 Cor 8:1, 2 Cor 13:7, lies, evil, fear, Zeph 3:13, evil people, imposters, deception, 2 Tim 3:13, false believers, 2 Cor 11:16, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16, temptation and the evil one, Mat 6:13, Jn 17:15. Give us angelic protection, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14.

πŸ™Œ For It's Your Kingdom, (Everlasting Kingdom which Cannot Be Destroyed, Dan 7:18), It's Your Power, (All Power in Heaven and Earth has been Given to Me, Matt 28:18), and Your Glory, Forever... (Not unto us O Lord, but unto Your Name Be Glory, Ps 115:1)... We Thank You for hearing, Mk 11:24, Amen, in Jesus' Name, in Him All The Promises of God are Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We are deeply blessed by your meditation on the prayer our Lord Jesus taught us and we join with you in seeking the Father first, His honor, His Kingdom and His will before we bring our own needs before Him.

What you have shared reflects the beautiful order Jesus gave us in Matt 6:9-13. He said Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. This is not to be mindlessly repeated as an incantation, for Jesus also warned in Matt 6:7 When you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. As you noted, it is a pattern, an outline of weighty petitions to be prayed with understanding, faith and expectation, and we rejoice that you approach it with such reverence.

We agree that the first petitions lift our eyes to the Father. To call Him Our Father is a profound privilege bought by the blood of Christ. John 1:12-13 tells us But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become Gods children, to those who believe in his name who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And Gal 4:6 says And because you are children, God sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. We who were once strangers and hostile in our minds have been brought near through John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Hallowed be Your name calls us to revere His holy and gracious name revealed in Ex 34:6-7 and to live so that His name is not dishonored among the nations as Rom 2:24 warns, but rather that His glory would cover the earth as the waters cover the sea in Hab 2:14.

To pray Your Kingdom come and Your will be done is to align our hearts with Matt 6:33 But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. We understand with you that His Kingdom is not merely talk but power and righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit as Rom 14:17 teaches, bearing fruit in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control from Gal 5:22-23, and walking humbly and justly before Him as Micah 6:8 calls us to do what is just, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. We too long for that Kingdom to come in greater measure now through the gifts and fruit of the Spirit for the building up of the Body according to Eph 4:11-13, and in fullness at the return of Christ when we pray with Rev 22:20 He who testifies these things says, Yes, I come quickly. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

Then our Lord teaches us to bring our daily needs, and we love your emphasis on daily bread being more than physical provision. Deut 8:3 and Matt 4:4 remind us that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Phil 4:19 assures us My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, so that we may love Him with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves in Mark 12:30-31.

The petition Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors is central to our fellowship with the Father and with one another. 1 John 1:7-9 promises If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We must name our sins honestly before Him and also release those who have sinned against us, entrusting judgment to Him who judges righteously as Rom 12:19 teaches, for vengeance belongs to the Lord.

And Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil is our daily cry for protection and holiness. John 17:15 shows Jesus praying not that we be taken out of the world but that we be kept from the evil one, and Ps 91:11 promises He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. We need His keeping from sin, deception, false teaching and the schemes of the enemy.

We pray together with you now.

Our Father in heaven, we hallow Your holy name and thank You for adopting us as Your children through the shed blood, death, burial and resurrection of Your Son Jesus Christ according to 1 Cor 15:3-4 and Rom 4:25. We thank You that because Jesus lives and reigns at Your right hand in Ps 110:1 we have access to Your throne of grace. May Your name be honored in our thoughts, words and deeds, and may Your Kingdom come in us and through us with righteousness, peace and joy, with love and holiness that overcomes. May Your will be done in our lives as it is in heaven, that we would hear Your voice in John 10:27, be led by Your Spirit in Rom 8:14, abide in Christ and bear fruit that remains in John 15:7-8, and make disciples as You commanded in Matt 28:19-20.

Give us today our daily bread, both the Living Word and all our spiritual, emotional, physical and financial needs, that we may be content and generous. Forgive us our debts as we forgive those indebted to us, cleanse us and teach us to forgive from the heart and to pray for those who have hurt us that they may come to repentance. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, from the evil one, from deception and from every snare, and guard us by Your angels and Your Spirit. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. We ask this expectantly, believing You hear us in Mark 11:24, and that the effective prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much in James 5:16.

We thank You that we can come only through Jesus, for John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We rest in His name alone and pray that all our prayers would be in His name where every promise is Yes and Amen in 2 Cor 1:20. Amen.

We appreciate the care you have put into walking through the Lord's Prayer phrase by phrase. It is clear you want to pray with understanding and not just repeat words, and that desire itself honors God.

We hear in your outline a longing to put God first before bringing your own needs, and to let each petition shape how you think and live through the day. That way of praying can slowly change how we see everything.

One simple way to keep it from feeling overwhelming is to linger on one part at a time. Many find it helpful to take a single phrase in the morning, sit quietly with what it means about who God is and what He invites, and then carry that one thought into the day. No rush to cover it all.

We are grateful for your hunger to know the Father more deeply and to see His kingdom at work in and through you.

Father, thank You for drawing us to call You Father and for hearing us when we pray. Help our friend to know Your nearness each day, to rest in Your provision and forgiveness, and to walk in Your guidance away from evil. Shape his heart through this prayer pattern and give him peace as he seeks You first. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your meditation upon the prayer which our Lord taught His disciples is most timely and profitable, for therein we have not a form to be mindlessly repeated, but a pattern after which we are to fashion all our supplications.

You have rightly divided it as our Saviour divided it. We are first to seek the Father, His honor, His Kingdom and His will, and then to seek our own provision, forgiveness and keeping. As it is written, seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. How needful that our prayers begin not with self but with God, hallowing His great and gracious Name, that Name revealed as compassionate and merciful, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy, and praying that His reign may come in power and not in word only.

You ask that His Kingdom may come through you in the fruit and gifts of the Spirit, in righteousness and peace and joy, in love and holiness. This is the very sanctification for which our Lord prayed, Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth. Holiness is an essential qualification for fitness in the service of God, and the holy Father will own those as His children upon earth who are made holy. He that is mighty on his knees is mighty everywhere, and neglect of prayer will soon make all spiritual power to wax weak. Therefore pray on, that you may be consecrated to the fulfillment of the Divine purpose and absorbed in the will of the Father, abiding in Christ that you may bear much fruit.

You pray also, give us this day our daily bread, forgive us our debts, lead us not into temptation. Here is the blessed truth which underlies all our pleading, there is forgiveness with Thee that Thou mayest be feared. It is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. If God absolves, that is all the acquittal necessary for salvation. Jehovah will never require the debt to be paid twice. There is forgiveness with Him in present gift, ready to bestow, and it is an eternal forgiveness, for He will not remember thy sins in His distribution of the recompense of the reward. Come then with a clean breast in confession, naming your sins before Him, and He will give you a clean breast by absolution, for His promises are yea and amen in Christ Jesus.

And you pray to be delivered from evil. Know that deliverance is of the Lord, but it must be accomplished by human instrumentality. We are not to let the arrows lie still and say God will do His own work. We must shoot the arrows of prayer earnestly, asking that the Lord would keep us from temptation and from the evil one, from lies and fear and deception, and give His angels charge over us. He will hear your cry and will save you when you have respect to His will.

May the Lord grant you to pray thus not as a recitation but with serious consideration, understanding the weight of each petition and expecting answers, for He fulfills the desire of them that fear Him. May He feed you with every word that proceedeth out of His mouth, forgive you freely for Christ's sake, keep you from falling, and establish you in His everlasting Kingdom, whose power and glory shall never be destroyed. We join you in this prayer, asking it in the name of Jesus, by whose shed blood and resurrection we are declared not guilty and made heirs of God, that we may cry Abba, Father. Amen.

Your reflection on the prayer our Lord taught His disciples shows a sincere desire to seek first the Father and His kingdom, and that order is itself instructive. He placed the hallowing of the Father's name, the coming of His kingdom, and the doing of His will before any petition for our own needs, teaching us that right prayer begins with worship and submission.

It is good that you do not treat this prayer as words to be repeated without thought. It was given as a pattern to shape our understanding, that we might pray with knowledge of the weight of what we ask and with expectation that God hears. Every prayer of ours should be accompanied with thanksgiving, for He loved us while we were yet sinners and strangers to the covenants, and gave His only begotten Son so that believing in Him we might have forgiveness and eternal life, adoption as sons, and the gift of the Holy Spirit by which we cry Abba, Father.

When you pray Hallowed be Your name, you ask rightly that His gracious and compassionate name would be honored in your thoughts, words and deeds, and not dishonored by your life. When you pray Your kingdom come and Your will be done, you ask for that righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, and for the fruit of love, patience, kindness, faithfulness and self control to be formed in you, and for power to live a holy life and to make Him known. This is how the kingdom is seen on earth as it is in heaven, already in part and yet to be fulfilled fully at the return of Christ.

Your petitions for daily bread, for forgiveness, and for deliverance from evil follow this same order. We depend on Him for every spiritual and bodily need, for we do not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from God. We ask forgiveness as those who have been forgiven an immense debt, not a small one. As the servant who owed ten thousand talents was forgiven his whole debt out of compassion, so we have been forgiven far more than we can repay, and therefore we must forgive our debtors from the heart, praying even for those who have sinned against us that they might repent and be saved, and never using the mouth that has touched the holy mysteries to curse or to speak bitterly against a brother.

You also ask to be kept from temptation and delivered from the evil one. Prayer is a great weapon for this daily warfare. If at the morning we make God favorable to us by prayer and supplication, we go out with security, and if we continue in prayer at night we are guarded through the temptations and snares that lie along the path. We need perseverance in this, for we often partake of grace unworthily and need much repentance, much endurance, and much prayer to be kept from sin and to walk faithfully.

Continue therefore with this pattern, not mindlessly but with serious consideration, with thanksgiving, with forgiveness toward others, and with perseverance morning and evening. God who has given baptism for the remission of sins and promised an inheritance in His everlasting kingdom will hear such prayer offered in the name of Jesus, for all the promises of God are Yes and Amen in Him.
