We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who lies in a coma after such a tragic accident. Our God is the giver of life, the healer of the broken, and the restorer of all things. We stand in the gap for this beloved one, declaring that by the stripes of Jesus, he was healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we plead the mercy and power of the Almighty to breathe life back into his body.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon this one who is helpless. You are the God who raises the dead and calls those things which are not as though they were (Romans 4:17). We declare that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Lord, we ask for complete restoration—body, mind, and spirit. Let every organ, every cell, every fiber of his being respond to Your life-giving power. Command the neurons to fire, the blood to flow, and the breath of life to fill his lungs once more.
We rebuke the spirit of death and infirmity in Jesus’ name. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against every work of the enemy in this situation, declaring that no weapon formed against this one shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life over him, for the Word of God says that life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). We choose life!
Father, we also pray for the family and loved ones surrounding him. Comfort their hearts with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them strength and faith to trust in You, even when the circumstances seem impossible. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let them feel Your presence in this dark hour, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
Lord, if this one does not know You as Savior, we pray that even in this state, Your Holy Spirit would draw him to repentance and faith. You are not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, that he may awaken not only to physical life but to eternal life in Christ Jesus.
We trust You, Lord, for Your perfect will in this situation. Whether You choose to heal him miraculously now or to call him home to be with You, we know that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). But we ask boldly, in faith, for a miracle—for Your glory to be revealed in this life.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, we pray. Amen.
