We hear your cry and we are praying for you right now in Jesus' name, and we want you to know that your life is infinitely precious to God and to us. We are so grieved to hear how overwhelmed and afraid you are feeling over your math notebook, shaking and crying and feeling that no one has answered. Please know you are not alone, God sees your tears and He is near to you in this moment.

The Lord says in Psalm 34:18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And in 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. He cares about every detail that worries you, including this notebook, but He cares infinitely more about you. Your life is made in His image and has eternal value that no notebook, no grade, no possession can ever compare to. In Psalm 139:13-14 we are reminded that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. God has a future and a hope for you beyond this painful night.

We gently but firmly rebuke the lie that losing a notebook means your life should end, and we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that is telling you to harm yourself. That is not the voice of God. God is a God of life and hope and peace. In Isaiah 41:10 He says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And Jesus invites you in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Your life cannot be replaced, but a notebook can be rewritten, copied, or replaced with help from a teacher or classmate.

We urge you right now, please do not stay alone and please do not act on these thoughts to harm yourself. Please reach out immediately to someone you trust, a parent, family member, teacher, pastor, counselor, or trusted friend and tell them exactly how you are feeling and that you need someone with you right now. If you feel you may act on these thoughts even in the next minutes, please call emergency services in your area or go to your nearest emergency room, and if you can, call or text a suicide prevention helpline. In the United States you can call or text 988, in the United Kingdom you can call Samaritans at 116123, in Canada you can call 1-833-456-4566 or text 45645, and in many other countries you can find help at Find A Helpline | Free emotional support in 130+ countries. If you are outside these countries please search for your local helpline or tell a trusted adult to stay with you and get you help now. We are not professionals, but we strongly encourage you to connect with a counselor, pastor, or medical professional as soon as possible.

We also understand how anxious you feel about the notebook. It is understandable to feel panic when something important seems lost, especially when you have been praying and searching for days. God hears every prayer, even when the answer does not come instantly. In Psalm 61:2 it says When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Ask the Lord to calm your shaking heart and to guide your steps. We encourage you to take some slow deep breaths, ask God for His peace, and then with a calm mind retrace your steps, pray for the person who may have found it to return it, and ask your teacher and classmates for help tomorrow to copy notes or get a new notebook. Many teachers will show grace when you explain what happened.

We are praying together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious one who is crying out in fear and despair. Lord, You see the shaking, the tears, the overwhelming anxiety over this notebook, and the thoughts of ending life tonight. We ask You to wrap Your arms of love around them right now, to let them feel Your presence and Your nearness. Lord, silence the lies of the enemy that says their life is without hope or value, and speak Your truth that they are deeply loved, cherished, and created for a purpose. We ask You to bring instant peace that passes all understanding, to calm their heart and steady their breathing, and to remove the thoughts of self harm. Place people around them tonight who will stay with them, listen without judgment, and get them the help they need. Lead them to safety and to ongoing support. We also ask You, Lord, if it is Your will, to bring that math notebook back or to provide a way to replace what was lost, and to help them see that You can redeem even this stressful situation. Let them know that nothing can separate them from Your love in Romans 8:38-39, and that You have a future of hope for them. We thank You that it is only through Jesus that we have access to You and that in His name there is salvation, hope, and healing. Hold them fast tonight and let them feel Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Please stay connected and let someone know you need help this very night. You are loved more than you know, and God wants you to live and to find His peace and help. We are continuing to pray for your safety, for peace to fill your heart, and for help to find you quickly, both for your safety and for your notebook.

We understand your math notebook feels so urgent and the fear of not finding it has made everything feel overwhelming. That anxiety is real, and you deserve support through it. Your life is precious to God and to the people around you, far beyond any notebook or school pressure.

It can help to let someone you trust know exactly what you told us, that you are thinking about hanging yourself and need help tonight. Please ask a family member, friend, teacher, pastor, or counselor to stay with you. If you have any means to harm yourself nearby, ask that person to help you step away from it and stay with you. Together you can also make a simple plan about the notebook, like contacting your teacher or a classmate in the morning to explain what happened and ask for help.

We are praying for you, and we encourage you to reach out for professional support alongside prayer.

Lord Jesus, we lift this dear one to You right now. Please surround them with Your presence and keep them safe tonight. Bring caring people close, calm their fear, and help them sense Your love and hope for tomorrow. Lead them to help that stays with them. In Jesus name, amen.

Your anguished prayer has been heard and my heart is moved by the depth of your distress, your tears, your shaking and your fear over the lost notebook. To feel that a small book should carry such weight that you think of ending your life shows how heavy anxiety can become, and how it can unfit the soul to meet the very difficulty before it.

I must speak to you plainly and tenderly about those thoughts of hanging yourself. Your life is precious in the sight of God who made you and who sustains you. No loss of a possession, however painful and urgent it feels tonight, can warrant such despair. As it has been preached among us, despair is a high insult to God, for it says in effect that His mercy is defeated and His help is gone, while the truth is that God is the sinner's hope and He is not lost. Despair also degrades a man below the very creatures that struggle for life, and it crowns the enemy of souls in Christ's stead. No man has a right to despair while Christ lives and pleads. If you are in danger of acting on these thoughts, I implore you, do not remain alone another moment. Tell someone near you right now, a family member, a friend, a pastor, a teacher, or a neighbor. If you have no one at hand, please call for help at once. In the United States you may call or text 988, in other countries you may find help at findahelpline.org, or go to your nearest emergency department. Stay with another person until help is with you, and let that person know you have said you will harm yourself tonight.

The Lord knows your need about the notebook, and He hears prayer about small things as well as great. Yet the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. You have been praying for days and feel no answer has come, and now fear presses hard. Hear what the Lord says to such fear. He says, Fear not, for I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. We must labor to get rid of fear as much as possible, not by our own strength, but by trust in promised strength. Fear is weakening and it dishonors God, as if the arm that piled the heavens could be palsied. Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you, is the gracious word given to you. That does not mean you keep telling yourself about the trouble till it grows larger, but that you place it into His hands who cares for you.

If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, play the man and let your faith overcome your fear. If you are uncertain about your salvation, do not be content in that uncertainty, but seek Him who is able to save and to keep. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, a holy reverence and awe that comes when we know forgiveness through the precious blood of Christ, and that fear drives out slavish terror.

I will pray for you now, and I ask you to pray with me and then to seek help from a living person close by.

O Lord God, look upon this trembling one who cries out in fear tonight. Thou seest the lost notebook and the distress it has caused, and Thou seest the deeper tempest of fear and despair. Say Thou unto this soul, Fear not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God. Keep this life from harm, send helpers and comforters at once, calm the shaking heart, and in Thy mercy restore what is lost or give peace to bear the loss. Bring this dear one to cast all care upon Thee, to trust Thy promised help, and to find in Christ a sure hope that cannot be moved. Preserve from the snare of the enemy, and let not despair have its way, but let faith lift up its head, for Jesus sake. Amen.

Please, as soon as you have read this, go to someone you trust and show them what you have written and what you feel. Do not wait until tonight has passed. Ask that person to pray with you, to help you look again for the notebook in the morning with a calmer mind, and to walk with you to get further care and counsel. If the notebook is not found tonight, your life is still of great worth and God has still a purpose for you beyond this trial. Let Him help you, and let His people help you also.
