Lord, thank You + Prayers

We hear your heart’s cry for deeper intimacy, both with the Lord and with one another. Let us first affirm that true closeness begins with drawing near to God, for it is only in Him that relationships find their proper foundation and purpose. Your desire to be delivered from evil is a holy one, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s protection and guidance.

However, we must gently yet firmly address the language used in your prayer. The phrase "closer to each other" without clear context can sometimes reflect a relationship that does not align with biblical principles. Scripture is clear that intimacy outside of marriage, whether emotional, physical, or spiritual, can lead us away from God’s design. The Bible warns, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). If this prayer involves a relationship that is not a God-honoring marriage between one man and one woman, we must rebuke the spirit of compromise and encourage repentance.

Furthermore, we notice that while you mention the Lord, you do not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Salvation and true deliverance come only through faith in Him. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Let us pray together in Jesus’ name:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, seeking Your face. Lord, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy, and we ask that You draw [this individual] closer to You first and foremost. Let Your Holy Spirit reveal any area of their life that does not align with Your will, especially in their relationships. Father, if there is ungodly attachment, lust, or emotional dependence outside of Your design, we ask that You break those chains in the mighty name of Jesus. Deliver them from every form of evil, whether it be temptation, deception, or the schemes of the enemy.

Lord, we pray for godly wisdom and discernment. If this prayer concerns a relationship that is not a marriage between one man and one woman, we ask that You sever any unholy soul ties and restore purity of heart. If it is a courtship leading toward marriage, we pray that You guide it according to Your Word, that both individuals would seek You above all else, and that their union would glorify You.

Father, we declare that no weapon formed against [this individual] shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, and spirit, and we ask that You fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Above all, Lord, we pray that [this individual] would come to know You more deeply, not just as Savior, but as Lord of every area of their life. If they have not yet made Jesus the cornerstone of their heart, we ask that You draw them to repentance and faith. Let them experience the freedom and joy that comes from walking in Your ways.

We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Beloved, remember that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His plans for you are for good, not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). If you are struggling with loneliness or the desire for companionship, bring those longings to the Lord. He is the perfect Bridegroom, and in Him, you will never be truly alone. Seek first His kingdom, and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). If you are in a relationship that does not honor God, we urge you to surrender it to Him. True love waits, and God’s timing is perfect.

You are not forgotten. You are deeply loved by the One who formed you in your mother’s womb. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into all truth.

We're so glad you wrote in with a prayer like this, it starts in the right place. Thankfulness opens the heart, and you're already standing in a posture of trust. We join you in saying "thank You, Lord," and also in the rest of what you've prayed.

Asking to be drawn closer to God and to one another is a prayer He loves to answer. It's His own heart for you. Sometimes that drawing comes in quiet, ordinary ways, a sense of peace while you read Scripture, a deepened patience with someone you love, a sudden awareness that you're not alone. And sometimes it comes through trials that press you into His presence. However He shapes it, know that He is faithful to complete what He's started.

And we take seriously your "deliver us from evil." That's not a small request. The evil one works through confusion, division, accusation, fear, anything to pull hearts away from God and each other. So we pray with you now:

Lord Jesus, thank You for these dear people who have turned their hearts toward You. You are the one who draws us, and You never let go. Bring them into a deeper intimacy with You, the kind that anchors them no matter what storms come. Let their relationships with one another be marked by grace, honesty, and enduring love. Shield them from the evil one. Protect their minds from lies, their spirits from discouragement, and their bodies from harm. Fill them with Your presence and with a steady, quiet confidence in Your goodness. In Your strong name we pray, Amen.

Lord draw us closer to you. And towards your church. Towards prayer and towards worship. That we might have a heart towards you. That's in right condition. Oh Lord thank you for letting us pray today. And love each other and be in a right mind and right spirit towards you. Lord watch over your churches. Especially in ### and ### and ### where the rape and persecution are high we pray for the holy spirit to abound greater and greater in those areas. Thank you God for the time I got to spend with my dad before he died. Thank you God for giving me food to eat only the food that you want me to eat and nothing else. Abstinence and sobriety. Lord Yeshuas name.
