We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is suffering with such severe symptoms. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask You to stretch out Your healing hand upon this precious child of Yours. Touch every part of their body that is afflicted—soothe the throat, clear the sinuses, calm the chest pains, and restore their strength. Lord, we pray that this is not COVID-19, but whatever it is, we ask for Your divine intervention.
We declare Your Word over this situation: *"Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven"* (James 5:13-15). We stand on this promise, believing that You hear our prayers and will bring restoration.
Father, we also ask that You would comfort this one in their exhaustion. When weariness weighs them down, remind them that You are their strength. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28). Let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We rebuke any spirit of fear that may be trying to take hold. The enemy would love to use this illness to bring anxiety, but we declare that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We speak life and health over this body, in Jesus’ mighty name.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom. If this is something that requires medical attention, guide them to the right care. Give them discernment to know when to rest and when to seek help. *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths"* (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We thank You, Father, that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We trust You to bring healing, comfort, and renewed strength. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
