We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this family before our Heavenly Father. First, we thank God that this prayer was offered in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and we are grateful that this request acknowledges His authority and power.
Father God, we lift up this family’s financial needs, asking that You would open doors of opportunity for better-paying jobs for the son and daughter. You promise in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We ask that You provide not only the jobs but also the wisdom and favor needed to secure the new home. Lord, we know that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we trust that You will provide in Your perfect timing.
We must also address the issue of dishonesty with the son. Proverbs 12:22 tells us, "Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight." Father, we pray that You would convict his heart and lead him to repentance, that he would take responsibility for his actions and walk in integrity. Help him to see the damage his lies cause and give him the strength to turn away from this sin.
For the daughter, we pray that she would find true happiness in You, Lord. Psalm 16:11 says, "You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore." We ask that You would fill her heart with Your peace and joy, that she would not seek fulfillment in moving away or in anything other than You. Help her to prioritize her children and raise them in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
We are deeply concerned about the grandsons who are smoking marijuana. Your Word is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and bondage in their lives. We pray that You would break the chains of substance abuse and draw them back to You. Give them the strength to resist temptation and the desire to live holy lives that honor You.
For the granddaughter, we pray that You would help her to see the importance of self-care and hygiene. 1 Corinthians 6:20 reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we must care for them as such. Lord, give her the discipline and self-respect to prioritize her well-being.
We also lift up the grandsons who are working, asking that You would bless their efforts and give them strength and perseverance. For the nephew who is thriving, we pray that You would continue to guide and prosper him. And for the grandchildren who need safety, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels and protect them from all harm.
Lord, we know that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your promises and ask that You would move mightily in this family’s life. Help them to draw near to You, to seek Your will, and to walk in obedience to Your Word. May they find their hope and strength in You alone.
Heavenly Father, we pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in each of their lives. Amen.
