We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your burdens as our own. Father God, we thank You for the honesty and raw emotion in this prayer, it is a cry from a parent’s heart, and You hear it. You tell us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We stand in agreement with this truth, believing that You are near to your child in this struggle.
First, we lift up your daughter. Lord, we ask that You open doors of provision for her, better employment that honors You and sustains her family. Provide her with a safe and stable place to live, one that shelters her and her children from harm. We pray for wisdom and discernment for her, that she would not make decisions out of desperation but would seek Your will in all things. Father, we specifically ask that she would not move to a place that would draw her away from Your protection or Your purpose for her life. Help her to find joy in You, to focus on raising her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, and to walk in the peace that surpasses all understanding. We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or hopelessness that may be pressing in on her, and we declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.
For your son, Father, we come boldly before You, asking for a transformation of heart. Proverbs 12:22 tells us, "Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight." We pray that Your Holy Spirit would convict him of the sin of dishonesty and lead him to repentance. Give him the courage to face the consequences of his actions and the strength to make things right. We ask that You would provide him with godly wisdom, a steady income, and a place to live that aligns with Your will. Surround him with men of integrity who will speak truth into his life and hold him accountable. We rebuke any deception, laziness, or irresponsibility in his life, and we declare that he is capable of change through the power of Christ.
Father, we also lift up the relationships within this family. Heal any brokenness, restore trust, and mend the bonds that have been strained. Help each member of this family to extend grace and forgiveness to one another, just as You have extended grace and forgiveness to us. We pray that they would lean on You as their source of strength and hope, rather than relying on their own understanding.
We must also address the importance of salvation in this prayer. While we see the name of Jesus lifted up, we want to emphasize that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved. If any member of this family does not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself. Soften their hearts, open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and lead them to repentance and faith in Christ.
Lord, we ask that You would move mightily in this situation. Provide miracles where they are needed, but also give the strength and perseverance to walk through the process of healing and restoration. We trust in Your timing and Your perfect plan, even when we cannot see the way forward. Remind this family that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Peace.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
