God’s promise to never fail or forsake His servants means you can face any challenge with divine strength and provision.
We hear the heaviness and fear in your heart and we stand with you together before the Lord in Jesus' name seeking His protection, peace, and victory over these nightmares and anxieties about losing those you love and being turned against or insulted.

The Lord knows the torment that fear and nightmares can bring, and He does not want you to live in dread. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We sought the Lord, and he answered us, and delivered us from all our fears Psalm 34:4. When fear tries to overwhelm you at night, we encourage you to cast all your cares upon Him and to fill your mind before sleep with His Word and prayer, for perfect love casts out fear 1 John 4:18 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.

We also want to gently address how you have prayed for confusion, grief, punishment, losses, weakness and blindness to come upon those who would harm you. We understand the desire for God to fight your battles and to make every evil plan fail, and He surely will. No weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17 and The Lord will fight for you, and you shall be still Exodus 14:14. Yet Scripture also teaches us not to seek personal vengeance but to trust God with justice and to love even those who oppose us. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19 and Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. So we will pray with you that God will thwart every scheme against you and your family, that He will bring every hidden plan to nothing, and that He will either turn the hearts of those who would do evil toward repentance or stop their harm, leaving judgment in His righteous hands rather than asking for their destruction.

You also shared the painful fear of being insulted or falsely called gay before your family and friends because of being biologically related to others. We want to speak truth in love here. The Bible teaches that homosexual behavior is sin and outside God’s design, which is made clear in Scripture Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and that God designed marriage as a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9. At the same time, being biologically related to someone does not make you share in their sin or define your identity, and a false accusation does not define who you are before God. People may insult or lie about you, but the Lord knows the truth and He is your defender and your identity is found in Christ. We pray that you will walk in purity and holiness before Him, and that He will silence lying lips and protect your reputation and your close relationships from slander Proverbs 12:19.

We join our faith with yours now and pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty and victorious name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and our access to Your throne. We thank You that You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust Psalm 91:2. We ask You to cover this dear one and all of their close family and friends with Your protection. Command Your angels concerning them and keep them in Your perfect peace as they sleep. Rebuke every spirit of fear and torment and every nightmare, and let no plan formed by the enemy or by bad people succeed. We ask You to frustrate every scheme to turn others against them, to isolate them, or to bring shame through insults and lies, and we pray that truth will prevail and that their family bonds will be strengthened and preserved according to Your will. Lord, fight their battles, make the way straight, and lead them into lasting victory and a lifetime of walking together with their family in Your love and unity. If there are those who intend harm, we pray You would convict their hearts, bring them to repentance, and stop their evil, for Your glory. Fill this dear one with courage, assurance, and sound sleep, knowing that when they lie down You will give them rest Psalm 4:8 and that You never leave nor forsake them Hebrews 13:5. We ask for complete victory not by our strength but by the blood of Jesus and by Your will being done. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

We have read your prayer and we hear how much you love your close family and friends, and how frightening these nightmares have been. Waking up with fear that you might lose the people closest to you, or that others might turn them against you or insult you, is exhausting. It makes sense you are asking God so urgently for protection and for a lasting, peaceful place with your family.

Nightmares can feel very real and leave a heaviness that lasts into the day, but they are not a picture of what must happen. When fear is loud at night, it can help to bring it into the light with someone safe. We encourage you to share what you have been experiencing with one trusted person, a pastor or mature believer who knows you and your family, so you do not have to carry these worries alone. If the bad dreams keep coming and you are losing sleep or feel on edge often, please also talk with your doctor or a counselor alongside prayer, so you can get care for both body and spirit.

We are praying for you and for your family.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this dear one to You. Cover him with Your protection and give him restful sleep and peace in his mind and home. Guard the relationships he treasures, help him to know he is secure in Your love, and cause any plans meant to harm him or his family to come to nothing. Lead him step by step in Your wisdom and keep him close to You. Amen.

Your cry in the night has been heard, and the fears that press upon you in dreams are not hidden from the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps. There is a precious word that grows plentifully in God's garden, and it is this, Fear not. The Lord says, Fear not, I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God, I will help thee.

You speak of nightmares of losing those you love, of words spoken against you, of insults and of evil gathering round. Such fears are weakening and they dishonor the God who has promised to be your helper. The fear of man bringeth a snare, but the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. When the heart trembles at the thought that every threat must surely fall upon us, and hardly dares to believe that a promise can belong to us, remember that God delights to exalt the low tree and to help the worm Jacob. You who tremble at His word are the very ones He will lift up.

Divine interpositions come in the way of deliverance from floods of trouble. Many of us can say, He hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears and my feet from falling. Not always by removing the trouble at once, but by sustaining in it and bringing us through it, His Spirit working all our works in us. Render calamity impossible and there would be no mark of His preserving hand, but He has promised to be with His people in the swellings of Jordan and to keep them.

You have prayed that confusion and punishment and blindness would fall upon others before they could harm you. Hear the counsel of Scripture in this. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and our calling is not to ask for harm upon others but to ask for protection and deliverance for ourselves and for mercy and repentance for those who would do us wrong. We labor to get rid of fear not by wishing evil upon men, but by trusting the living Christ who says, Fear not, I am He that liveth and was dead, and behold I am alive for evermore. It would be disobedience to remain in fear when Jesus Himself whispers, Fear not.

Concerning the distress about being called what you are not, and the confusion about family and identity, hear what the Lord teaches for our good. Our true identity is found not in the names men give us nor in the accusations of others, but in being born into the family of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, washed in His blood and passed from death unto life. Forgiveness of sin and a new heart come only through Him. And in that new life He calls us to walk in holiness, with reverence and awe before Him. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy and living together belong within that covenant alone. Any way that falls short of this is not to be affirmed or celebrated, but brought honestly before the Lord for His cleansing and His help. The same forgiveness that inclines the heart to prayer also inclines it to repentance and to holy living. If you have not already done so, seek Him for that forgiveness, and ask Him to make you one of His living children, for it is the living ones that are bound together in true unity.

For your family, the unity worth keeping is not a unity in fear or in mere natural ties, but the unity of the Spirit in the truth of God. Divisions never begin with those full of love to the Savior. Live near to Christ, and pray that your household may be kept in that spiritual unity which Christ Himself prays for and which His power is working to accomplish.

Therefore let us pray not for the ruin of others, but for your complete victory in Christ. May the Lord chase away fear with His many promises, keep your mind in perfect peace as you trust in Him, guard your family in love and truth, and deliver you from tormenting dreams. May He grant you faith that grows stronger day by day, for as faith grows, fear declines, and perfect love casteth out fear. May He give you a lifetime of walking with Him and with those He has given you, not in a mere earthly win but in the everlasting win of being found in Christ and kept by Him forever.

Seek the Lord continually in His Word, in prayer, and among His people. If these fears continue to overwhelm you, seek the help of a faithful pastor who can counsel you face to face and pray with you. The Lord is your helper, fear not what man shall do unto you.
