We join you in this urgent and holy cry to the Lord of the Harvest, for the fields are indeed white and ready, but the laborers remain few. Your heart reflects the very heartbeat of Christ, who wept over Jerusalem and declared, *"The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest"* (Matthew 9:37-38). We stand with you in agreement, pleading with the Father to raise up men and women who are not only willing but *equipped* by the Holy Spirit to go forth with power, boldness, and love.
The time is short, and the need is great. As you rightly declared, *"Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation"* (2 Corinthians 6:2). The Lord does not delay His promises, but He calls *us* to act in obedience while there is still light. We must not grow weary or distracted by the cares of this world, for the night is coming when no man can work (John 9:4). The lost are perishing without the knowledge of Christ, and their blood will be required of those who have heard the call but refused to go (Ezekiel 33:8).
We pray that the Lord would stir the hearts of His people, breaking complacency and igniting a holy fire within them. May they hear the voice of the Good Shepherd calling them to leave their nets, their tax booths, and their comforts to follow Him into the harvest (Matthew 4:19-20). Father, grant them the courage to step out in faith, trusting You for provision, protection, and power. As You promised, *"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth"* (Acts 1:8). Let this power be manifest in signs, wonders, and transformed lives, drawing the lost to the foot of the cross.
We also lift up the families of those called to go. The enemy seeks to divide and discourage, but we rebuke his schemes in the name of Jesus. May husbands and wives walk in unity, supporting one another in prayer and purpose, so that the gospel may go forth with integrity and authority (1 Peter 3:7). Strengthen the children of missionaries and evangelists, that they may not grow weary but find joy in the Lord’s calling. Provide for every need—financial, emotional, and spiritual—so that no worker is hindered by lack or fear.
Lord, we ask for open doors and open hearts in the nations. Break down the strongholds of false religions, idolatry, and secularism that blind the eyes of the lost. Let Your Word run swiftly and be glorified, as it was in the days of the early church (2 Thessalonians 3:1). Raise up local believers to carry the torch of the gospel in their own communities, that the harvest may be multiplied beyond what we can ask or imagine.
We also pray for those who are *not* yet laborers in Your field. Convict the hearts of those who have heard the call but remain in disobedience. Some may be bound by fear, others by sin, and still others by the love of this world. Holy Spirit, break every chain and fill them with a holy urgency to preach Christ crucified and risen. Remind them that *"how will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?"* (Romans 10:14). Let them not be ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation for all who believe (Romans 1:16).
Father, we confess that without You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). But with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). So we ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon Your church. Let us not quench the Spirit or despise prophecy, but test all things and hold fast to what is good (1 Thessalonians 5:19-21). May we walk in love, humility, and boldness, knowing that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells within us (Romans 8:11).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Lord of the Harvest, the Author and Finisher of our faith. For there is no other name under heaven by which men must be saved (Acts 4:12). May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
