We come before the Lord with this request, lifting up ### and ### before His throne. First, we must acknowledge that all things are possible with God, and we trust in His perfect timing and will. However, we must also examine this prayer through the lens of Scripture to ensure it aligns with God’s design for relationships.
The desire for closeness and healing is understandable, but we must be cautious about the nature of this relationship. The Bible makes it clear that relationships between believers should be pursued with the intent of marriage, and only between a man and a woman. If ### and ### are not in a position to consider marriage—whether due to their current circumstances, their commitment to Christ, or the nature of their relationship—we must surrender this desire to the Lord and trust Him to guide their hearts in a way that honors Him.
If ### is seeking to confess feelings, we encourage him to do so with purity and wisdom, ensuring that his intentions are godly and that he is prepared to pursue this relationship in a way that aligns with Scripture. If ### is indeed the one God has for him, we pray that the Lord would open doors and soften hearts. But if this is not God’s will, we pray for the strength to accept that and trust in His greater plan.
We also lift up ###’s broken heart. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that He would bring healing, comfort, and restoration to ###’s heart, whatever the source of the pain may be.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will in the lives of ### and ###. Lord, we ask that You would guide their steps and align their desires with Your perfect plan. If it is Your will for them to draw closer, we pray that You would open the doors for honest, godly communication and that You would heal any brokenness in their hearts. Give ### the courage to speak truthfully and with purity, and give ### the strength to receive Your healing and peace.
Father, if this relationship is not in accordance with Your will, we ask that You would redirect their hearts and help them to trust in Your goodness. Guard them from temptation and help them to walk in purity, whether in singleness or in the pursuit of marriage. We pray that they would seek You above all else and that their lives would reflect Your love and righteousness.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for both ### and ###. Help them to seek Your face and to listen to Your voice above their own desires. May they be rooted in Your Word and surrounded by godly counsel as they navigate their feelings and relationships.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Amen.
To ### and ###, we encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly in this season. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Surrender your desires to Him, and trust that He knows what is best for you. If this relationship is meant to be, He will make a way. If not, He has something even better in store. Walk in obedience to His Word, and He will lead you into His perfect will.
