Beloved of All
Your cry for Jesus to intervene is itself the right prayer, and it is the place where real help begins. When we come to the end of our own strength we stop asking how can I help myself or searching for another self help idea, and we begin to call for help outside ourselves. Scripture gives voice to that moment with the question, who will deliver me, and then answers it, thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. In Him there is victory so that you do not have to remain defeated or bound.
That help is sure because of who Jesus is. Peter declared by revelation from the Father that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God, and Jesus Himself is the foundation upon which everything stands. He is the faithful witness who shows us exactly what God is like. He was raised from the dead, He holds the keys of death and the grave, and He fulfills the promise to set at liberty those who are bound and to open the prison doors. To build your hope on Him is to build on solid rock.
Jesus has always drawn near to those with the greatest need. When He entered the synagogue and saw a man with a withered hand, everyone knew He would be concerned for that man and want to help him. That is His heart toward the weak, to help and to heal. He does not respond with anger toward the needy, but He is grieved by hard hearts that would keep people from His mercy. Like the man who was told to stretch out his hand, you can choose to will to obey His word even while you feel weak, and trust Him to give strength as you respond.
Help is very close. All you have to do is call. Jesus said where two or three are gathered in His name He is there among them, and He hears when you say Lord help me. You do not need a great store of faith on your own. Even faith as small as a mustard seed is enough when it is placed in Him, and it is honest to pray as one man did, Lord I believe, help my unbelief. If you are sick or weak or cast down, that is precisely when He invites you to bring your need to Him. He is not distant and He will not shame you for not having enough faith. Men who knew they needed help and knew Jesus could help them refused to be deterred, and you can keep coming to Him in the same way, leaving behind whatever you have leaned on and reaching for Him.
May the Lord hear your repeated prayer and intervene according to His perfect wisdom and love. May He reveal Himself to you more clearly as the risen Savior who alone gives life, for whoever has the Son has life. If you have not already done so, confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for that is how salvation comes. And for every other burden you carry, keep asking Him directly for His touch, His guidance, and His deliverance.
Praying that Jesus will meet you in this moment, lift your burden, strengthen your faith, and keep you in His peace. In the name of Jesus, amen. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
