Silas
Beloved of All
Your urgent cry, Lord Jesus please intervene, is itself a prayer God hears. It comes from that place of knowing you cannot help yourself, and that is exactly where He wants you to be.
Scripture shows that our help does not come from any other source or strength around us. It comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. If He is great enough to create all things, He is certainly great enough to care for what you are facing right now. He does not slumber and He will not let your foot slip. He keeps watch over you continually.
It is honest to feel you need help right now, and to want it quickly. The Psalms are full of that same cry, make haste to help me, for you are my help and my deliverer. God understands that sense of urgency. Remember how the sisters sent word that the one Jesus loved was sick, and Jesus still waited two days before He came. His delay was not lack of love or lack of hearing. He heard, He loved, and He came in the perfect time to show even greater power. Your cry has reached Him, even if the answer does not come in the moment you hope.
There is a temptation when we are desperate to look to other things for help, to trust in what people can do, in our own plans or resources. But the help of man is vain. To look elsewhere and not to the Lord only adds to the burden. True strength is found in quietly trusting Him and waiting for Him. He does not need our help to work things out. He is able to deliver on His own.
You may also wonder how to know what is God's voice and what is your own heart. The surest measure is His Word. Does what you are sensing and praying align with Scripture. Bring everything to that test.
Like the apostle Paul, when we come to the end of our own formulas and self effort, our cry changes from how can I fix this to who will deliver me. That is the right cry, a call for outside help, for a Deliverer. And the answer is Jesus Christ.
So bring Him your honest heart, even as the father who said with tears, Lord I believe, help my unbelief. You do not need a large amount of faith. Even faith as small as a mustard seed, when placed in a great God, is enough. Tell Him plainly, Lord I cannot do this, I need You.
May the Lord show you His mercy and deliver you from this distress. May He lift your eyes to Himself, steady your steps, and give you peace as you trust Him. I am praying that you will know His presence as your helper, that you will hear His voice through His Word, and that you will see His deliverance in His perfect way and time. In Jesus name, amen.
