Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We join you in thanking the Father through Lord Jesus Christ for all He has already done and for so many prayers He has answered, and we join you in asking Him to keep you from losing sight of His mercies while you wait for complete deliverance, healing and salvation for your whole family.
We pray with you for protection for you and your family according to Psalm 91, Psalm 34:7, Zechariah 2:5 and the other scriptures you mentioned, asking that the Lord Himself would be a wall around you, that His warrior angels would encamp around those who fear Him, and that no weapon formed against you would prosper. We also pray with you for salvation, for deliverance, for healing and for restoration. Scripture reminds us that now is the acceptable time and now is the day of salvation, and that God sent His Son not to judge the world but to save the world through Him. There is salvation in no other name, and we ask that each member of your family would hear the gospel, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved, as Acts 16:31 promises.
We hear your desire to trust the Lord and not lean on your own understanding even in the midst of painful attacks and abuse. The word teaches that hearing alone is not sufficient for salvation, but there is needed also continual recollection of the word, fortitude, and patient endurance. We pray that your afflictions, as you endure them with Christ, would work in you comfort and steadfast hope, and that God who is the God of all mercies would deliver and comfort you. We ask Him to pour His love into your hearts through the Holy Spirit according to Romans 5:5, to give you new hearts and new minds according to Ezekiel 36, to restore your souls according to Psalm 23, to manifest in you the fruit of the Spirit, and to turn every curse into blessing through Christ who became a curse for us according to Galatians 3:13. We ask Him to restore what seems hopelessly broken according to Joel 2:25, to heal according to Isaiah 53:5 and Jeremiah 30:17, and to grant you supernatural trust, faith, peace and joy.
For the many specific concerns you lifted up for family members, for school and teachers, for understanding and homework, for confidence, for trauma and wounds of rejection and abandonment, for sleep and for daily responsibilities, we bring each one before the Lord. Where you have asked for intervention in relationships, including new and difficult relationships that have been dysfunctional or harmful, we pray that the Lord would bring His holy and healing will to bear. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, but we ask Him to bring conviction where needed, to grant repentance and purity, to heal wounds, to stop what would lead to further harm, and to guide every relationship toward what is holy, faithful and in keeping with His creation purpose of marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with all intimacy belonging within that covenant. We pray for favor with teachers and fellow students where it is according to His will, for wisdom for you as you support your family, for protection over sleep and over your time of vacation, and for help with work and new responsibilities.
We also pray for what you mentioned concerning devotions, your prayer ministry and the evening of prayer this Friday, for the sermon and for the next preaching opportunity, that the Lord would anoint the word, guide you in exactly what to say, and use it for salvation and encouragement. We pray for the conflicts you named, for the hurt of feeling overlooked, for forgiveness where you have felt you vented or acted in fear or frustration, and for reconciliation where it is possible and wise. We ask the Lord to comfort those who need comfort, to confront what is not of Him, to grant you strength and encouragement, and to direct and guide you in all things.
May the Lord keep you steadfast in prayer, established in His word both in hearing and in doing, and may He be glorified in a mighty way in all your lives as you continue to call upon His holy name.
