Lord Jesus please glorify yourself

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in lifting your family before the Lord Jesus Christ, the spotless Lamb of God who alone takes away the sin of the world and cleanses us from all sin.

We thank God with you for what He has already done and for the signs of encouragement He has given, for His mercies are new every morning. We ask with you that He would be glorified in your household, that He would save, heal, deliver and protect you according to His great mercy. We stand on His promise that God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved, and that His death is the salvation of the world. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved except Jesus Christ alone, and we pray that every unsaved member of your family and kindred would have their hearts opened to that gospel, that they would hear and believe and be delivered from every bondage, addiction and compulsion.

We plead the precious blood of Christ over you and your loved ones, and we ask the Lord to surround you with His protection, to give His angels charge over you and to keep you in His peace. Scripture teaches us to ask for the angel of peace and that peace is the mother of all good things and the bond of all good things. Christ Himself says, My peace I give unto you, and where His peace is present even burdens become light. We pray that He would guard your thoughts and emotions with that peace which He left to His disciples, and that in your home there would be reconciliation and love, for the peacemakers are called the sons of God.

We bring before Him all the particular burdens you named, the needs for health and healing, the spasms and wounds of body and soul, the trauma and feelings of rejection and abandonment, the weariness and burnout, the needs at school with friends and teachers and tests and homework, the needs at work with meetings and tasks and leadership, the needs for wisdom in shepherding and planning and caring for others. We ask that He would heal every part, that He would rebuke the lies of the enemy and replace them with His truth, that He would give confidence and assurance that He hears prayer, for He has said to call upon Him in the day of trouble and He will deliver, and that He who promised will bring justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night.

Concerning relationships, we pray as you have prayed, that the Lord would save and deliver and bring all things into obedience to Christ. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His holy design, for we hold fast to His design that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. Where any relationship is dysfunctional or leads away from holiness, we pray that God would in His mercy either bring true repentance and make it holy according to His will or bring it to an end and block what is not good, and that He would protect from further relationships that would lead into sin and harm. We pray that He would confront what is evil, expose what is hidden, and bring healing where there has been wounding between you and others.

We pray also for your own walk, that God would grant you repentance for anything that grieves Him, that you would be filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit, that you would love Him first and foremost and obey Him. This requires not one part of virtue only but a careful hearing of the word and continual recollection, with fortitude and deliverance from worldly things, that the word may take deep root and bear fruit. We ask Him to direct and guide you and give you wisdom, to anoint your prayer gatherings and the preaching of the word that it may pierce hearts and resound with power, to bless the outreaches and the children's work and to draw many to Himself, and to turn what the enemy meant for evil into great blessing.

We ask for His mighty intervention to act quickly where the situation is so difficult, to block what is not good, to fight your battles, to give breakthrough and encouragement. We rest on His promises in Psalm 91 that He is our refuge and shelter, and in Isaiah that no weapon formed against us shall prosper and that in righteousness we shall be established. We pray that His word would sink deep and do a miraculous work in every heart, for He is the God who does wonders.

May the Lord grant you encounters with Him, strengthen your faith, forgive your failings as you confess them, and keep you in His grace. We continue to remember before Him also the prayers you lifted in the previous request that was deleted, for He knows all the details even when they are not fully expressed.

We commit all of this to the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord, asking for His will to be done and for His name to be glorified in your family. Amen.
