Lord Jesus please glorify yourself

We have heard the deep cry of your heart and we join you in lifting your whole family before the Lord Jesus, giving thanks for what He has already done and trusting Him for what He will yet do.

Your desire for salvation above all else is right and good. God sent His Son not to judge the world but to save the world, and His death is the salvation of the world. There is salvation in no other name, for Jesus alone is the perfect spotless Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world and cleanses us from all sin. Now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation, and we pray with you that every unsaved member of your family and relatives would have their hearts opened to the gospel, that they would hear and believe and be saved. We ask the Lord to deliver from every bondage, addiction and compulsion, and to grant true repentance where it is needed, for hearing alone is not sufficient for salvation. As you have heard, we must also do, and continue with fortitude, with love for Christ above all, and with turning away from all that belongs to this world.

We stand with you on His promises in Psalm 50:15, Psalm 91 and Isaiah 54:14-17, and on His assurance that He hears the cry of His elect who call upon Him day and night as in Luke 18:7-8. You have pleaded the precious blood of Christ and asked for His protection around you and your loved ones, including your thoughts and emotions, and for His holy angels to surround you. We ask the Lord in His mercy to be your refuge and shield, to block what is not good and to act according to His perfect wisdom and timing. When affliction comes, it can work in us patient endurance, and that endurance brings comfort and salvation as we share in the sufferings of Christ and also in His comfort. He knows every detail you have lifted up, even where names were withheld, and He will fight your battles.

We bring before Him the many specific burdens you named. For the children, that God would give good friends at school, favor with teachers and classmates, help with tests and homework and understanding, confidence in Him, healing from wounds and from physical infirmities such as spasms, and a strong faith that knows He hears prayer. For healing in your own body and for each loved one you mentioned who needs healing in body and mind, including trauma, rejection and abandonment, that the Lord would replace lies with His truth and do miracles according to His power. For work, meetings, tasks, workload and organization, for the teams and those in leadership and headquarters, for the care responsibilities and the vacation and all daily needs, that He would guide, anoint and provide wisdom, and turn what the enemy meant for evil into blessing. For the prayer gatherings, the intro course, the sermons, the outreaches to the homeless and on the subway, the children's ministry and the kids camp, that He would anoint them, pierce hearts, draw many to Himself and rouse His church to pray.

Concerning the relationships that weigh on you, we agree with you in praying as Scripture teaches. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, for marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and all sexual union and living together belongs within it. Where there is a relationship that is dysfunctional or leads away from Christ, we pray that the Lord would in His mercy block what is not good, bring conviction, expose what is hidden, break strongholds of sin, and lead all involved to repentance and salvation. May He save and heal and make whole, and guard each person from entering another relationship that would harm them, and instead lead them into purity and obedience to Him.

You have asked for help to repent of anything that grieves the Lord and to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to love Him first and to obey Him. This is the way of life. We pray that God would grant you and your family a careful hearing of His word and a continual doing of it, with humility to correct what needs correcting, to seek forgiveness where you have spoken in frustration, and to be reconciled where relationships have been wounded. His mercies are new every morning, and He is faithful to direct and guide those who ask Him for wisdom. He can revive faith where there is burnout, give peace where there is turmoil, and give strength where you feel out of it and unmotivated.

So we pray: Lord Jesus, glorify Your name in this family. Save, heal, deliver and protect. Forgive sins, cleanse by Your blood, fill with Your Holy Spirit, and teach us to love You first. Guard our hearts and minds, provide for every need, anoint every work and every gathering for Your glory, and let Your word sink deep and bear fruit. We ask for encounters with You and for breakthrough and encouragement in Your time. Have mercy on us, for we fail often, and lead us in Your way. Amen.

Your honest and detailed prayer is heard, and your desire for Jesus to be glorified in your family is the right desire. God is glorified when people are saved, healed, delivered and kept by His grace, and when His people call on Him in trouble and trust Him to answer.

The greatest need you lifted up is salvation, for your family and relatives, and that is the greatest miracle of all. Scripture ties grace and salvation together, for the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all, and it teaches that salvation is not something we can earn or achieve by our own effort. It is placed outside our ability and rests entirely on what Jesus has done and on believing that work, and even the faith to believe is a gift from Him. His very name means the Lord our salvation, and to confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord and to believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead is to be saved. One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord, but for those who wait until then that confession will not be unto salvation but unto condemnation, an acknowledgment that they were wrong to reject Him. That is why Scripture says now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation, and urges us not to put off receiving what God offers. How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, a salvation that began to be spoken by the Lord Himself and is open to whosoever will come, reaching even the lowest sinner. Jesus is called the captain of our salvation who was made complete through suffering to bring many sons into glory, to make us part of God's family and heirs together with Him.

Because salvation is by grace, the call to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling is not a call to work for your salvation. It is an exhortation to live out with reverence and diligence what God has already worked in you by His grace, to walk in obedience because you have been saved, not in order to be saved. Your prayer to repent of what grieves Him, to love Him first and to be filled with His Spirit and to walk in wisdom is exactly that response, a desire to live out the salvation He has given.

You also asked for healing, for physical needs like spasms and pain and burnout and trauma and rejection, and for healing of relationships and wounds within the family. The Bible shows that Christ's suffering provides for both spiritual and physical healing, and Matthew applies Isaiah's prophecy to Jesus healing the sick, and the bread of communion reminds us His body was broken for us. At the same time Scripture is honest that healing is not always instant or in the way we ask. One healing in the Gospels was gradual, and in other cases Jesus healed with a touch, with a word, from a distance, or by His presence, without being confined to one pattern. The apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed and God did not remove it but gave grace sufficient for it. This teaches us to trust God's wisdom and love in every case, knowing that while we pray earnestly for healing, the forgiveness of sins remains the greatest healing, and every other healing, whether instant, gradual, through natural processes that God Himself created, or through the mending of the mind and emotions, is still from His hand.

You pleaded the blood of Jesus, asked for angelic protection and for a wall of fire around your thoughts and emotions, and stood on promises like Psalm 50:15 which says call upon me in the day of trouble and I will deliver you, and Psalm 91 which speaks of dwelling under His shelter, and Isaiah 54 which promises that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and that righteousness and peace are from the Lord, and Luke 18 which assures that God will bring justice for His own who cry out to Him. These prayers rightly look to Jesus as the perfect spotless Lamb who takes away the sin of the world and cleanses us from all sin. It is through trust in Him as Savior and submission to Him as Lord that we have salvation and protection, and He has authority in the material and spiritual realm to calm storms, to heal infirmities and to command evil to leave. You can rest in His power to block what is not good and to fight battles that are too difficult for you to handle.

For your loved ones who do not yet know the Lord, keep praying that God will open their hearts to the gospel today, while it is still the day of salvation. For those bound by addictions, compulsions and other bondage, pray for deliverance that leads to a changed life under His Lordship. For the relationships you mentioned, including the one you asked God to stop and the concern about another harmful relationship, we pray with you for God's holy intervention. We do not ask God to bless any relationship that is outside His design, for marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and intimacy belongs within it. We ask instead that He bring salvation to both persons, bring conviction where needed, block what would lead away from Him, and lead each one into purity and obedience. If a relationship does not honor Him, we ask Him to bring a loving but firm separation and to heal and protect those who have been wounded by it.

For the school needs, for friends and favor with teachers and classmates, for tests and homework and understanding, for confidence and the assurance that God hears prayer, for work and meetings and workload and leadership and direction, God cares about every detail. He promises wisdom to those who ask, and His mercies are new every morning, so when you feel you have failed, you can come again for mercy and for help to walk in a new way. It is also true that when you follow Jesus, you may feel alienation even within your own family, because Jesus said a prophet is not without honor except in his own household, and He taught that the bond within the family of God can become deeper than natural blood ties when family members do not yet believe. That does not remove your love for them, but it reminds you that God has given you a spiritual family as well.

We join you in asking for peace, for deliverance, for health, for provision in work and care and daily responsibilities, for help with anger and frustration so you can respond in a way that pleases Him, for rest from burnout, for the vacation and other practical needs, and for anointing on prayer and on the hearing of the Word so that it sinks deep and bears fruit. We ask the Lord to turn what the enemy meant for evil into blessing, to give you encouraging signs of His nearness, and to grant you fresh encounters with Jesus as you seek Him.

May the Lord answer according to His perfect will and timing, keep you in His grace, establish you in His salvation, and cause His name to be glorified in every part of your family and life. Amen.
