Lord I Pray

Thank you for sharing your heart and allowing us to pray with you. We have brought your requests before the Lord, asking Him to keep you safe, to watch over your health, to provide for your daily needs and to give you grace to meet every bill He allows to come before you, both now and in the years ahead.

Your prayer reflects needs that are as old as humanity itself. Cultures and times change, but the deepest issues of life remain the same. The book of Job speaks to those very issues. It is one of the oldest books in Scripture, and it shows a man who had much and then lost much, who cried out from pain and confusion while trying to understand what God was doing.

Scripture gives us background that Job himself could not see. God Himself pointed to Job as a man who was upright, who loved God and turned away from evil. The adversary had been watching Job closely and had formed an idea about him, that Job only honored God because God had surrounded him with blessing and protection, like a hedge around him and all he had. The adversary claimed that if those blessings were removed, Job would turn away. God permitted testing, but He set clear limits, and even in great loss and physical suffering Job did not curse God or accuse Him of wrong.

When Job suffered, friends came intending to comfort him, but their counsel was not helpful. They assumed suffering must mean hidden sin and told him he must be a hypocrite who needed to get right with God. Job answered that God is fair and just, yet he also admitted he did not understand God's ways. In his grief Job said many things about life and death that came from pain, not from settled truth. We learn from this not to build our understanding of God on words spoken in despair, but on what God has revealed about Himself. Isaiah declares God's ways are higher than ours, and Job himself came to see that.

Job also cried out for someone to stand between God and man, one who could lay a hand on both. That cry is answered in Jesus Christ, who alone brings us to God and makes peace between us and the Father. Through Him we can come with confidence, not because we have earned protection by our own goodness, but because He has made a way.

We have prayed that God would keep His hand upon you, guard your health, grant you strength for each day, and provide steady work and provision as you look toward August 31, 2028 and beyond. We ask Him to give you peace that does not depend only on circumstances, and to help you walk through each day with trust rather than fear, knowing He sees you in every season. We thank Him with you for the times He has already kept you through illness and for all the unseen ways He has cared for you.

We also pray that your faith would be rooted not only in the blessings you hope to keep, but in God Himself, who is faithful whether the path is easy or hard. He knows your needs for employment, for health, and for daily provision, and He invites you to seek Him first, to receive His word into your heart, and to rest in His justice and mercy.

May the Lord continue to show you His care, give you wisdom for each decision, and draw you closer to Himself through Jesus Christ. We trust Him to do what is right and good for you, and we will keep praying that you experience His presence, His provision, and His peace in the days ahead.
