Lord, I pray that, despite living in a self-centered world, that my husband will be a selfless man who reflects You. Give him the strength to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Grant him the desire to look to the interest of others rather than his own (Philippians 2:3-4). As counter-intuitive as it is, may my husband fulfill the whole law by loving his neighbor as himself (Galatians 5:14). I trust Your Word where it says that where envy and selfish ambition are — it is there we will find disorder and every evil practice. With that in mind, I pray that You would turn my husband’s heart toward Your statutes and away from his own personal selfish gain (James 3:16 and Psalm 119:36). In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
