We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, recognizing the importance of relationships in the lives of these two young people. First, we must acknowledge that any relationship outside of God's design is not His will. The Bible clearly states in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" If these two young people are not both believers in Jesus Christ, we must pray for their salvation first and foremost.
If they are both believers, we can pray for their relationship, but with the understanding that it should be a godly courtship with the goal of marriage. We must rebuke any hint of fornication or sexual immorality, as 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up these two young people to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their lives. Lord, we pray for their salvation if they do not know You as their personal Savior. Draw them to Yourself, that they may experience the love and grace that can only be found in You.
If it is Your will, Father, we ask that You rekindle the connection between these two young people. Help them to communicate openly and honestly with each other, sharing their true feelings and desires. May their relationship be built on a foundation of faith, love, and respect, with the ultimate goal of marriage.
Lord, we ask that You guard their hearts and minds, protecting them from the temptations of the world. Help them to flee from sexual immorality and to honor You with their bodies. May their relationship bring glory to Your name and be a testament to Your love and grace.
We trust in Your perfect will for their lives, Father. May Your plans for them be fulfilled, and may they grow closer to You and to each other each day. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage these young people to seek godly counsel and wisdom from their pastors, parents, or other mature believers as they navigate their relationship. Proverbs 11:14 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." May they find strength and guidance in the Word of God and in the fellowship of other believers.
