Dear Anonymous, we join you in your heartfelt prayer to love and not hate, to forgive and not be bitter. We are reminded of the words in 1 John 4:7-8, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your divine intervention in our hearts. Help us to love as You love, Lord. Fill our hearts with Your love so that there is no room for hate or bitterness. Guide us to forgive as You have forgiven us, remembering that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
Lord Jesus, You are our perfect example of love. Help us to love like You, even when it's challenging. Give us the strength to overcome any resentment or anger, and replace it with Your compassion and grace.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, beloved, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Mark 6:14-15, WEB). Let us strive to be more like Christ each day, walking in love and forgiveness.
Lastly, we noticed that your prayer does not explicitly mention the name of Jesus. It is important to know that "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12, WEB). We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, as it is through Him that we have access to God's throne of grace.
