Ezekiel 30:23 :
I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.

A Prayer Inspired by Ezekiel 30:23:
Our prayer:
"Heavenly Father, You are the sovereign ruler over all nations and kingdoms. Your word shows that human pride and power will ultimately fade, but Your purposes endure forever.
LORD God, when we feel scattered or see division in our world, help us to keep our eyes fixed on You rather than the shifting powers of the earth. Grant wisdom, justice, and mercy to our leaders, and let Your church remain unified and steadfast in troubled times. Empower us to walk in obedience and be instruments of Your peace wherever we are planted.
In Jesus' name, Amen."

We join you in this beautiful prayer and we say amen to your heart's cry to keep our eyes fixed on the Lord when the world feels scattered and divided.

Ezekiel 30:23 reminds us of the awesome sovereignty of God, I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. In its context, the Lord was pronouncing judgment on Egypt, a proud and powerful nation that trusted in its own strength, wealth, and alliances. This shows us that no earthly kingdom, no matter how mighty it appears, stands outside of God's authority. He removes kings and sets up kings, Daniel 2:21, and He can scatter the proud in a moment. Yet what is judgment for the prideful is also a comfort for His people, because the same hand that scatters also gathers and holds all things together.

When we feel scattered ourselves, whether by anxiety, by division in our culture, or by the shifting powers of this earth, we are reminded to look to the One who never shifts. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, Hebrews 13:8, and in him all things are held together, Colossians 1:17. While nations rise and fall, His kingdom endures forever.

We take comfort that God does not desire His people to remain scattered. Jesus prayed for us that we may all be one, John 17:21, and He promised that when we fix our eyes on Him, He will give us peace. You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you, Isaiah 26:3. We are called to look unto Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, Hebrews 12:2, rather than to the turmoil around us.

We pray together with you:

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that You are sovereign over all nations and over our own lives. You see the pride of nations and You humble the exalted, yet Your mercy endures forever. Forgive us when we have looked to earthly powers for security rather than to You. When we feel scattered, gather us to Yourself. When we see division in our world, make us instruments of Your peace and unity. We ask that You grant wisdom, justice and mercy to our leaders, and that You would keep Your church unified, steadfast, and obedient to Your Word. Help us to walk faithfully where You have planted us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, who is the Word of Life and the Bread of Heaven, and trusting that Your purposes will stand forever. Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth, Psalm 46:10. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our hope, Amen.

We're thankful you put words to what so many of us feel. When headlines and conversations feel divided and scattered, it's easy to feel unsettled, and turning your eyes to the Lord as you have is a steady place to stand.

We join you in that desire to keep our focus on Him rather than on powers that rise and fall. We have found that remembering God is both over all and personally present helps us breathe a little easier. He is not distant from the confusion we see, and He is not distant from us in it.

One small practice that has helped others when that scattered feeling comes is to pause for a few quiet moments with Him before taking in more news, and to stay rooted in regular worship with other believers. Simply being together to worship often restores perspective in a way striving alone cannot. We are praying with you for that steadiness in your own daily places.

Father, we ask You to keep our hearts fixed on You when the world feels divided. Give wisdom and mercy to those who lead, guard Your church in unity, and make us instruments of Your peace where You have planted us. Keep us faithful in small obedience today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer rightly acknowledges what the prophet Ezekiel declares, that the Lord disperses the nations according to His sovereign pleasure. Human pride and power will ultimately fade, but His purposes endure forever. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe troubles, we believe that Sovereignty hath ordained our afflictions, that Sovereignty overrules them, and that Sovereignty will sanctify them all.

It is well to keep your eyes fixed not upon the shifting powers of the earth, but upon Christ Himself. The world is indeed scattered and divided, yet God's thoughts toward His people are always thoughts of peace. He is at peace with them through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, He seeks their peace, He creates their peace and He sustains their peace. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and when we learn that our enormous debt of sin has been fully discharged by the Lord Jesus Christ, then is the heart at peace.

This is the great peace which they have who love God's law, a peace which can exist when strife rages all around us. When Christ Himself is our All in All, we are harbored in the haven of peace. Man's extremity is God's opportunity, and when you are brought low, He will put His everlasting arms underneath you. Though your way may be closed, His way is open. God knows all when you know nothing at all.

Therefore let your prayer continue, that wisdom, justice and mercy may be granted to those in authority, and that the church may be kept in that true unity which is found in Christ, for He Himself prayed that we might be one in Him. May you walk in obedience to His Word, loving His law, trusting His blood, and so be made an instrument of His peace wherever you are planted.

We join you in this, that the Lord would keep you steadfast, with your mind stayed upon Him, and that you may know that perfect peace which cannot be taken away by force or fraud. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in this prayer and give thanks for the heart behind it, to keep our eyes fixed on God when the world feels scattered and divided.

The verse you mentioned from Ezekiel shows a solemn truth, that God is sovereign over all nations and kingdoms. Human pride and power, like that of Egypt in the prophet's day, will fade, but the purposes of God endure forever. When He scattered, it was a righteous judgment upon boasting and idolatry, to show that no earthly power stands apart from His rule.

Your prayer asks for the right response to such times, not to fix our hope on shifting powers, but to look to Christ. He is the true Bread of Heaven and the living Word of God, and He alone brings lasting peace. Scripture teaches that peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and that the peacemakers are called sons of God because the Son of God came to reconcile what was divided.

We also remember that not all division is the same. There is a harmful division that comes from departing from sound doctrine, and there is a necessary separation from what is evil in order to cling to what is good. What we seek and pray for is the unity that comes from truth, from being of one heart and one mind in Christ, bound together in love and at peace with one another through the Holy Spirit.

So we pray with you in the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have salvation:

Heavenly Father, You rule over all nations and Your counsel stands forever. In a time of scattering and division, turn our eyes to You. Grant wisdom, justice and mercy to those in authority, keep Your church unified and steadfast upon Your Word, and make us instruments of Your peace wherever You have planted us. Keep us sober and watchful, living in love and holiness before You. In Jesus name, Amen.
