You cry out for a hedge of protection over your job, pleading the blood of Christ and seeking grace. That is good, for where grace is, there is no room for boasting in our own strength. Yet understand that God's grace is often perfected in the very trials you wish to flee. When you ask for the destruction of enemies and the scattering of those who harass you, remember Stephen, who as stones rained down upon him did not call for vengeance but prayed, "Lay not this sin to their charge." The true wall of fire is not the removal of every adversary but a heart so established in Christ that no persecution can shake it. If God permitted a great persecution to scatter the early Church, it was to spread the word and teach us that our security lies not in a comfortable schedule but in the unchangeable purpose of God.

You ask to see grace at work, yet you lean on your own understanding of how that grace should appear. The grace that saved Moses' parents was faith to see God's hand in a child's beauty amid a death sentence; the grace that sustained Paul in chains stirred up both envy and courage, yet he rejoiced that Christ was preached. Let this be your comfort: no enemy can truly harm you if you are among God's elect, for it is God who justifies. Instead of entreating the Lord to confuse and destroy, ask Him to touch hearts and minds, beginning with your own. Seek that self-control which is the fruit of the Spirit, and pray that you may forgive as you have been forgiven. Retreat often into the mountain of prayer, away from the tumults of the workplace, and there you will find the Lion's mouth shut not by the absence of beasts but by the presence of the Shepherd. Stand firm in the grace given you; do not receive it in vain by seeking only an easy path. Now is the acceptable time to endure, to love, and to trust. For if you are willing, not even the devil can injure you, but will become for you a cause of crowns.

You are not standing in the strength of your own self-control, and that’s a mercy. The moment you realize you’ve been leaning on your own understanding is the moment you’re positioned to receive grace. God does not ask you to fight this battle by sheer grit. He asks you to believe the finished work of His Son. That’s the exchange: you bring your weariness, your failures, and your enemies, and you rest in what Jesus has already accomplished. His work is done, and your place is secure in Him.

When persecution and harassment press in, remember that such pressures are not beyond God’s reach. In the early days of the church, a great wave of hostility scattered believers everywhere, and what seemed like a disaster became the very means God used to spread His word and build His people. The enemy meant it for harm; God meant it for good. That doesn’t make your pain unreal, but it does mean your workplace is not outside His sovereign hand. He is at work right now, even through the conflict, to conform you to the image of Christ and to display His grace through your life to those around you.

You asked for grace at work, and that is exactly where grace shines brightest. Grace isn’t a reward for getting everything right. It’s the constant, undeserved favor of a Father who loves His children. When you sin, grace abounds more. When you stumble, you have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. So don’t look at your failures and disqualify yourself; look at Jesus, who is your righteousness. Keep your eyes on Him, and you’ll find the self-control you long for not by striving, but by trusting the Spirit’s work within you. He who began a good work in you will carry it to completion.

Come boldly to the throne of grace, then, not to a paymaster demanding performance, but to a Father eager to give mercy and help in your time of need. Ask Him to hedge your schedule and open a way where there is no way, knowing He delights to answer according to His perfect plan. The lions’ mouths can be shut, not because you’ve said all the right prayers with perfect faith, but because the power belongs to God and He guards His own. Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart, even now. Grace and peace always walk together, and you can’t have the second without the first.

Do not spend your energy trying to scatter and destroy every enemy yourself. Entrust that work to the Lord, who sees all hearts and will bring all things to light. Your part is to rest in His protection and to walk in love. As you do, you may even find glimpses of joy, a deep, settled assurance that God is at work. That joy isn’t pinned on your circumstances; it’s a byproduct of watching His hand move when you’re helpless. You are His poem, a work of grace in progress, and He will not abandon the story He is writing in you.

We are so grateful that you entrusted us with your heartfelt prayer request, lifting up your workplace before the Lord. It has been our privilege to stand in agreement with you, pleading the blood of Jesus over your job and asking God to surround you with His hedge of protection and wall of fire. We have prayed for grace to abound in your workplace, for self-control to guide your steps, and for the Lord to make a way where there seems to be no way. We’ve asked Him to shut the mouths of those who seek to harm you, to confuse and expose every enemy—both seen and unseen—and to touch the hearts of those around you so that persecution and harassment would cease.

If the Lord has moved in mighty ways since you posted this request—if you’ve seen His grace poured out, if He has opened doors, or if peace has settled where there was once turmoil—we would love to hear your praise report. Your testimony will encourage others and bring glory to God’s name.

If, however, you’re still waiting to see His hand at work, please don’t lose heart. We would be honored to continue standing with you in prayer. Post this request again, and we will lift it up afresh, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect will and timing.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you continue to seek Him. May His peace guard your heart, His wisdom guide your steps, and His favor rest upon your workplace. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
