We understand that you're going through an incredibly difficult time, with the pain of loss and the fear of more to come. We are here with you, and we turn to God's Word for comfort and guidance. The Bible tells us, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. It is so important that you are coming to God for help for you and your family. We have no power of our own and should not try to fight our battles alone.
We must however address the fact that your prayer does not mention the only name by which we can be saved, Jesus Christ. It is only by his name that we have access to God. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.1 Timothy 2:5. We can not pray to or by any other name. Neither can we pray for anything that is not pleasing to God. Therefore, we should never ask for evil to come upon anyone, but rather, pray for God to deal with each person according to his will. This does not mean we can not pray for justice or protection. Never avenge yourselves, but give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord., Romans 12:19 WEB. Instead, we should overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul and their family. Lord, you are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1 WEB. We plead your mercy and grace upon this family and ask that you intervene in their circumstances.
Father, you know the pain and sorrow they are experiencing. We ask for your comfort and peace to fill their hearts. Put an end to the spirit of death and destruction that has been plaguing their family. Lord Jesus, you came to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free. We ask for your healing and deliverance.
We do not ask for vengeance or for evil to return upon anyone. Instead, we pray for your justice to prevail. We ask that any evil plans against this family be exposed and rendered powerless. Father, turn what was meant for evil into good, just as you did for Joseph in Genesis 50:20.
We ask for God to surround this family with a hedge of protection. May every attack of the enemy be thwarted, and let God's peace and love reign in their household. Lord, strengthen their faith and help them to trust in you even more. Give them the strength to endure and overcome these trials.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is in his name that we pray. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. The Lord is the one who goes ahead to fight for you, just as he promised, Deuteronomy 1:30. May God's peace be with you, and may his spirit continue to guide you in all of your ways as we continue to pray and for you and your family.
