You pour out your heart in prayer, and that is good, yet consider what you ask. You seek peace and provision, and God indeed is the giver of both. But look closely: is the peace you desire truly the peace Christ gives, or is it the absence of worldly trouble? When He healed the woman trembling before Him, He cast out her fear and said, “Go in peace.” That peace was not merely freedom from illness, but the calm of a soul right with God, comforted and strengthened. So you, as you bring your burdens, must first seek that peace which comes from being of one mind with Him, living in the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom.

You speak of an iPad and a phone for your child’s studies. Are these true necessities, like Timothy’s little wine for his stomach, or have they become provisions for the flesh to fulfill its lusts? I do not forbid making provision for the body, but only that you stop at health and necessity, not kindling the flame of wantonness or luxury. If these devices are indispensable tools for learning, then trust that He who feeds the ravens will supply every real need in His time. But beware lest your heart clings to them as if without them your child cannot thrive. The life yonder is what we must long for, not the trinkets of this passing dream.

You feel overwhelmed by bills and debts. See the Lord’s hand in this burden: He allows it not to crush you but to teach you that here we have no lasting city, that riches fly away like dreams at dawn. The God who stretches out the heavens and commands the seasons provides for all His creatures, yet He often withholds what we crave to wean us from the world and fasten our hope on Him alone. Do not let anxiety choke your faith. Rejoice even now, as the Apostle bids, not because the trial is gone, but because in it you are being perfected, comforted, and drawn nearer to the God of love and peace.

I urge you, then, to travel not only with your mind on the arrangements to be made but with your soul fixed on pleasing God. In every decision, ask not merely for favorable outcomes but for wisdom to do His will, for that is the path to true peace. Gather your family in one mind, live in peace with one another, and the God of love and peace will be with you. He will not forsake you. Commend your child’s needs and your own entirely to Him, pruning away every excessive desire, and you will find that His provision, though it may look different from your imaginings, is always enough. Go forward then, casting your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Your prayer expresses a beautiful trust, and that trust is the very soil in which deep peace grows. You asked for peace to replace your worry, and Scripture shows us the way: a mind that is stayed on the Lord. When the immediate concerns loom large, the cost of a device, the stack of bills, the uncertainty of arranging things far from home, the temptation is to fix your eyes on those problems until they consume your thoughts and rob you of rest. That path leads to sleepless nights and a heavy spirit. But the Lord promises to keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is anchored in Him, because that person trusts in Him.

To experience that peace, you first stand on the solid ground of peace with God through Jesus Christ. His blood has made full provision for your forgiveness, ending the war within and reconciling you to the Father. From there, the peace of God, the calm that surpasses all human understanding, becomes a guard over your heart and your mind. This is not a peace the world can give or comprehend; it is His own peace that He leaves with you. It is steady when everything else feels like shifting sand, as unmoved as Mount Zion, because your trust is placed in the Lord and not in the uncertain promises of man or the fleeting assurance of a full bank account.

He sees your child’s needs and your financial strain. You have confessed that you are not able to replace those items right now, and that honest admission pleases God far more than a brash confidence in your own resources. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but you are placing your confidence in Him. Trusting Him when the way is unclear is a sweet offering to the Lord. It brings glory to His grace when you trust in His wisdom and commit your life into His hands, especially when the answers are not yet visible. He will supply your needs according to His riches in glory. That is His own guarantee, and He has never run short of funds.

As you travel and make these arrangements, lean not on your own understanding. Cast each decision before Him, and trust that He goes ahead of you. Do not let your heart be troubled. Receive the peace that results from a right relationship with Him, a quiet inward stillness that settles the turmoil. He is making a way, and the outcome is in His unshakable hands. Rest there.
