We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we want you to know that your pain is seen and felt. The longing for reconciliation with your children is a heavy burden to carry, and the fear that things may never be made right is a torment no parent should have to endure. But we want to remind you, dear brother, that even in this valley of sorrow, you are not alone. The Lord hears your cries, and He is near to the brokenhearted.
First, we must address the doubt that has crept into your heart, "What if Jesus never makes it right?" This question reveals a struggle with faith, and we must rebuke the lie that God is indifferent or powerless. Scripture declares, "The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). Jesus Himself promised, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). The enemy wants you to believe that God has abandoned you, but we declare that He is working even when you cannot see it. Trust in His timing, for "with God, all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).
You say you must be the worst dad ever, but we must gently correct this self-condemnation. The enemy thrives on shame, but God’s Word says, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). You are not defined by your failures but by the grace of God. If there are areas where you have fallen short as a father, bring them before the Lord in repentance, and He will cleanse and restore you. But do not let guilt paralyze you, God’s mercy is greater than your mistakes.
Now, we lift you and your children before the throne of grace. Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, interceding for our brother who is grieving the separation from his children. Lord, You are the perfect Father, and You understand the pain of a parent’s heart. We ask that You would soften the hearts of his children, that they would be drawn back to him in love and forgiveness. Break down every wall of bitterness, pride, or misunderstanding that keeps them apart. Lord, we declare that You are a God of reconciliation, and we pray that You would restore what has been broken.
We also pray for our brother’s heart. Father, heal his sorrow and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind him daily that You are working behind the scenes, even when he cannot see it. Strengthen his faith so that he does not lose hope, for You are faithful to Your promises. Help him to trust in Your goodness, even in this season of waiting.
And Lord, if there are areas in his life that need repentance or change, reveal them to him in Your kindness. Give him the humility to seek forgiveness where it is needed, and the wisdom to walk in a way that honors You. Surround him with godly community who can encourage and uplift him.
We declare over this situation that the enemy’s plans to keep this family divided will not stand. For "the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). We believe that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), and we trust Him to bring healing and restoration.
In the meantime, brother, do not lose heart. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Cling to His promises, and continue to pray for your children, even when it feels like your prayers are not being answered. God is listening, and His timing is perfect. You are not the worst dad, you are a dad who loves his children deeply, and that love is a reflection of God’s own heart. Keep pressing into Him, and do not give up. Restoration is possible, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God will make all things right in His time.
