Lonely

We have heard your cry about feeling lonely and isolated for many years and the severe depression it has caused, and we are lifting you up together before the Lord in prayer. You are not unseen and you are not forgotten, even when it feels that way. God Himself sees your loneliness and He cares deeply about your suffering.

The scripture tells us that God sets the lonely in families Psalm 68:6 and that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He also promises I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Hebrews 13:5 and Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We know that prolonged isolation is not God's design for us, for He created us for fellowship with Himself and with one another, not to walk alone. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and He invites those who are weary, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is through His name we can bring every burden, including this deep loneliness and depression, directly to the throne of grace.

We pray together for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this dear one before You who has felt lonely and isolated for so long and is weighed down with severe depression. Lord, You see every tear and every long night, and we ask that You draw near and let Your presence be felt in a powerful way. Heal the broken heart and bind up these wounds, lift this heavy burden and give rest to this weary soul. Replace the sense of isolation with the assurance that You will never leave nor forsake, and lead this one into godly fellowship and community where they can be encouraged and known. Help them to cast all their worries on You because You care for them 1 Peter 5:7 and guide them to reach out to a trusted pastor, a Bible believing church family, and to godly counsel and help so they do not have to carry this alone. We ask that You fill the emptiness with Your love and hope, and remind them daily that nothing can separate us from Your love in Christ Romans 8:38-39. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to take steps toward fellowship, even when it feels difficult. God calls us not to forsake our own assembling together Hebrews 10:25, and being part of a local Bible believing church can bring the family and support God intends. Please do not walk through this depression alone, reach out to a pastor, a mature believer, or a trusted Christian counselor, and if the depression feels overwhelming please also seek help from a medical professional or a trusted person near you right away. We are praying that God will open doors for genuine friendships and that you will experience His comfort and nearness each day, and we will continue to hold you up in prayer before Him.

We read your note and we are so sorry you have carried loneliness for so long. Years of feeling isolated can wear down even the strongest heart, and it makes sense that you feel low and weary now. You are not unseen in this, even when it feels that way.

We have noticed how isolation tends to make heavy feelings heavier, while steady connection with others, even in small ways, can help loosen its grip. That does not have to mean a large circle of friends all at once. Often it begins with one consistent place to belong and be known over time.

If you are able, consider one simple next step this week. You might let a pastor, counselor, or trusted friend know how isolated you have felt and ask about meeting or talking regularly. If you have a church nearby, going to worship consistently can also put you among God's people week by week and give you a gentle rhythm and community to lean into. If you don't have those connections yet, a local congregation or support group can be a good place to find them.

Because you mentioned severe depression, we encourage you to reach out soon to your doctor or a counselor for support as well, alongside prayer. You do not need to face this alone, and getting care is a wise and caring step for yourself.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see each lonely day and night and You know the weight they have carried. Draw near with Your nearness and comfort, ease what feels so heavy, and lead them to kind, faithful people who will walk with them. Give wisdom and care to those who support them and guide each next step. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your cry of many lonely years has been heard, and we bring it before the Lord with great tenderness. To be isolated for so long, and to feel the weight of severe depression settling upon the soul, is a painful meditation, and we do not make light of it. The Lord sees you in this place, and He knows the weariness of the length of your way.

We would have you remember that our Savior Himself knew this loneliness. He was left alone, alone just when most, as Man, He needed human sympathy. His disciples forsook Him and fled, and He trod the winepress alone. Can you, for a moment, enter into the sorrow of that loneliness? He understands it to the full, for He has borne it. This is why His sympathy is so precious to those who walk in solitary places. Another form of loneliness is the portion of Christians when they come into deep soul conflict, when faith has to fight for very existence, and we believe many of the Lord's people know what you describe.

Yet hear how that loneliness ended for Him, and how it may end for you. It pained Him but it did not dismay Him. "You shall leave Me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me." So it is with the believer. Though friends may be few and days may feel empty, the Father is with you if you are in Christ. There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you.

We are saved in hope, and that hope consists of belief, desire, and expectancy. It looks to things not seen. At present you do not see the comfort, the fellowship, the joy that you long for, but hope waits with patience for what God has promised. Turn you to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even when the pit seems to have no water and no comfort in it, the Lord has provided a deliverance in Christ Jesus, and He will render double unto you for your sorrow. Christ comes to you through the door of your felt necessity and your conscious distress, and that very valley of trouble He can make to be a door of hope.

Therefore we pray for you now.

O Lord our God, in whom alone is the salvation of Your people, look upon this weary and lonely soul. You have seen the many years of isolation and the heaviness of spirit that has followed. Lord, draw near as the Father drew near to Your Son in His loneliness. Let this dear one know that though forsaken by none or by many, yet never forsaken by You. Lift the cloud of depression, give light in darkness, and give a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ. Grant belief where there is doubt, desire where there is numbness, and patient expectancy where there is despair. Provide faithful fellowship, the comfort of Your Word, the presence of Your Spirit, and the help of Your people, that this loneliness may be met with Your abiding communion. Keep, preserve and sustain through every struggle, and give joy in Your presence both now and forever. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope. Amen.

Thank you for sharing honestly about the loneliness and isolation you have carried for so many years and the heavy depression it has brought. You are not unseen in this suffering, and God does not turn away from a contrite and humble heart that trembles at His word and seeks Him in need.

I am praying for you, that the Lord who draws near to the brokenhearted would give you His comfort and strength day by day. Scripture teaches that we are saved by hope and that patience works endurance, and endurance proves and deepens hope. Even as gold is refined in fire, God can make the soul brighter through trials as you continue to trust Him and look to the good things He has promised in Christ, which are sure even when they are still hoped for.

God has also made us to need one another. His word calls us to exhort one another, to comfort those who are fainthearted, to support the weak, and to be patient toward all. Loneliness grows heavier when it is carried alone, and I want to encourage you not to cease to hope and not to despair, but to keep reaching out. If you have a local church, please let a pastor or a trusted believer there know how you are struggling so they can walk with you, pray with you, and help you stay connected in regular fellowship. If your depression feels severe or overwhelming, please also reach out to a trusted person near you, a counselor or medical provider, and if you ever feel unsafe, seek help right away from someone you trust or a local help line.

I will pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this dear one who has felt lonely and isolated for so long. You know every day and every night of this burden and the weight of depression. Have mercy and draw near. Give comfort where there has been emptiness, peace where there has been distress, and renewed hope in Jesus Christ, in whom alone we have salvation and life. Help this one to know Your presence through Your Word and Your Spirit, to hear Your voice and rejoice in it, and to experience the unity and love of Your people. Provide faithful friends and a caring community to exhort and support and walk alongside with patience and kindness. Give strength for each day, and guide to wise and caring help for both soul and body. Keep this one in Your care and lead toward healing and joy in You. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Please keep reaching out and letting others know how you are doing. You are not forgotten by God, and He desires to carry you through this season as you keep your hope in Him.
