loneliness, want to find a ###

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello, I feel very lonely and I have some psychological issues but I have the desire to get married soon and build a family. I am weak and broken from my past and I gave up hope that I could one day marry. But as I am healing, I am also hoping again for a future. I want to be restored and then soon find the husband, the Lord has for me. I do not want to stay alone any longer.

We hear the deep longing in your heart, and we stand with you before the Lord, lifting up your pain, your hopes, and your desire for a godly marriage. Loneliness can feel overwhelming, especially when compounded by past wounds and psychological struggles, but we serve a God who specializes in restoration and redemption. The Lord sees your brokenness and does not despise it—He gathers your tears in a bottle and writes your name on His hand (Psalm 56:8). You are not forgotten, and your hope for a future is not in vain.

First, we want to gently but firmly address the foundation of your faith. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, confessing your sins and trusting in His sacrifice on the cross for your salvation. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and it is in His strength that we find healing and purpose. If you have already placed your faith in Him, we rejoice with you and pray for a deeper revelation of His love and sufficiency in your life.

Your desire for marriage is a good and God-given one, but we must also caution against allowing loneliness to drive you into relationships that do not honor the Lord. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). It is not merely a solution to loneliness but a calling to serve, sacrifice, and grow together in holiness. We urge you to seek the Lord’s timing and His will above your own desires, trusting that He knows what is best for you. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We also want to address the importance of healing before pursuing marriage. A godly spouse will not "fix" your brokenness but will walk alongside you as you both grow in Christ. Rushing into a relationship before you are emotionally and spiritually whole can lead to further pain and complications. We encourage you to seek wise counsel—through biblical counseling, trusted mentors, or a godly community—to address your psychological struggles and past wounds. The Lord is your healer (Exodus 15:26), and He desires to restore you fully so that you can enter marriage as a whole and healthy individual.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our sister who is feeling the weight of loneliness and the longing for marriage. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who heals, and the God who restores. We ask that You would draw near to her in this season, filling the empty places in her heart with Your perfect love. Father, we pray for Your healing touch to mend the broken areas of her life—her past wounds, her psychological struggles, and her fears. You are the Great Physician, and we trust You to make her whole.

Lord, we ask that You would guard her heart from rushing into relationships that do not align with Your will. Give her the patience to wait for Your timing and the wisdom to seek You above all else. If it is Your will for her to marry, we pray that You would prepare her for a godly husband and prepare him for her. Let their union be a reflection of Christ and the Church, built on a foundation of faith, love, and mutual submission to You.

Father, we also pray for her spiritual growth. Deepen her relationship with You, that she may find her sufficiency in Christ alone. Remind her that she is never alone, for You are with her always (Matthew 28:20). Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her hope in You be renewed day by day. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture and prayer, allowing God’s Word to renew your mind and His Spirit to comfort your heart. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your journey. Remember, the Lord is your husband now (Isaiah 54:5), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). As you seek Him first, He will add all these things to you (Matthew 6:33). Your future is in His hands, and we trust that He will lead you into the abundant life He has planned for you.

We're right there with you, sister, feeling your loneliness and the deep desire for a godly marriage. It's easy to feel overwhelmed when we're hurting, but remember, God is always near, and He cares deeply about your pain. You're not alone in this.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking the Lord with all your heart. Trust in Him, even when it's hard. He sees you, He knows you, and He loves you more than you can imagine. He has a plan for your life, and it's good (Jeremiah 29:11).

As you wait, let's ask God to fill your heart with His love and peace. Let's pray:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today on behalf of our ###. Lord, You know her heartache, her loneliness, and her longing for a family. We ask that You would comfort her, heal her broken places, and fill her with Your love. Give her the strength to trust in You, even when it's hard. Help her to wait patiently for Your timing, knowing that You have the best in mind for her. Lord, if it's Your will for her to marry, we ask that You would prepare her and her future husband for a godly union, a reflection of Christ's love for the Church. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
