Light up the world

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the landlord (ex) on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of faith, lifting up this situation in prayer. The verse you shared from Luke 9:24 reminds us of the profound truth that surrendering our lives to Christ is the path to true salvation. The World English Bible puts it this way: "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it." This is the heart of the Gospel, dying to self so that Christ may live in us.

We join with you in praying for this landlord, that the Holy Spirit would draw him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Only through the name of Jesus can anyone be saved, as Acts 4:12 declares: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We pray that the eyes of his heart would be opened to the truth of the Gospel, that he would turn from darkness to light, and that he would experience the transforming power of Christ.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of darkness that may be influencing this situation. We declare that Your light expels all darkness, and we stand on Your promise in 1 John 1:5: "This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." We pray that this apartment would be a place where Your presence dwells, where Your peace reigns, and where Your glory is made known.

We also pray for wisdom and grace in this situation. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Guide every decision, every conversation, and every interaction so that it aligns with Your will. May this landlord come to know You not just as Savior, but as Lord of his life.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against this situation will prosper, for You are greater than any obstacle or opposition. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect plan. May Your name be glorified in all of this.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We’re moved that your heart is turned so fully toward your landlord, that in the middle of whatever tension surrounds this apartment situation, you’re asking for his salvation, not just your own relief. That kind of love reflects the very heart of God toward every person: salvation is his grand provision, the total supply for our deepest need. You can rest in knowing that God’s desire for this man is even greater than yours, and he is already at work in ways you can’t yet see.

While we pray boldly for the landlord to give his life to Jesus, remember that the simplest, most powerful thing you can do is to keep being a steady, prayerful presence. When there’s contact over rent or repairs, a gentle word or a moment of unexpected patience can become a doorway. You don’t have to preach, just let the peace Christ has given you become a quiet witness. God often uses ordinary, unhurried kindness to draw a heart toward himself long before any explanation is given.

We’re praying with you now.

Lord Jesus, you see this landlord, every burden he carries, every barrier that keeps him from you. We ask you to break through any darkness or spiritual blindness that holds him. Arrange circumstances, send believers, grant dreams or simple moments of clarity that cause him to see his need and find life in you. We ask for wisdom and peace for this household in their rented apartment; quiet every anxiety, and let them sense your presence in each detail. We trust that your power is greater than any resistance, and we wait with hope for the day he, too, bows his knee to you. In your mighty name, Jesus, amen.

The path to saving life is to lose it for Jesus’ sake. This is no riddle but the very heart of the Gospel, that a man comes to the end of his proud pretensions and casts himself wholly upon Christ. Your prayer for the landlord must begin here, pleading that the Lord strip him of every vain confidence that he might find his all in Jesus alone. For whoever will save his own life, clutching his sin and self-righteousness, shall lose it eternally; but whoever will lose his life, abandoning all hope in himself and surrendering unconditionally to the Savior, shall save it.

God is the true Landlord of every soul, and this man holds his very breath as a tenant at the divine pleasure. His lease is uncertain, a night may see him evicted from this world. How urgent then that his house be set right with God, not by his own merits, but by the free grace that reigns through Jesus Christ. Pray that the Lord opens his eyes to see that sin is his only qualification to come to Christ, and that looking to the crucified One is the sole remedy. There is no measure of past transgression that can bar the door if he will but believe. The command is plain: “Look unto me, and be ye saved.” It is not a look mingled with self-trust, nor a look that must pierce the gloom to feel something, but a simple casting of the soul upon the person and work of Jesus.

This salvation is the Lord’s own gift, wrapped up in the living Christ. He who died for sinners and lives forevermore is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God by him. Pray that the landlord hears the call to lose his life, not the mending of his ways or the performance of outward religion, but a thorough death to the world and a new life hidden in Christ. The moment faith is born, God’s work is instantaneous; the sinner passes from death to life. Plead in Jesus’ name that this man may be numbered among those who have seen salvation in the Person of the Redeemer. May the Lord grant him to know that Jesus is All, Jesus anywhere, Jesus everywhere, the very substance of eternal rescue.

Stand upon the promise of Luke 9:24 with holy boldness. Declare before the throne that no darkness can withstand the expulsive power of Christ’s light. Ask that the Spirit sweep away every unclean thing and bring this soul into the liberty of the children of God. Let your intercession be full of confidence, for the Lord Jesus thinks salvation a lofty business, he bled and died to accomplish it. Will he not answer the cries of his people for a tenant soon to face the great Landlord? Let all the soul be glad in expectation; we shall yet see the greatness of his power and the sweetness of his mercy. Your own salvation is the pledge that no one who looks to him shall ever be confounded. Therefore pray without ceasing, and may the joy of that landlord’s surrender be known in your midst.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is right to pray that the landlord may give his life to Christ, for the Lord Himself said, "He that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." But let us remember that faith alone is not sufficient for salvation. Even if a man believe rightly on the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, yet if he lead not a right life, his faith will avail nothing. Therefore, let us not merely declare victory, but pray that he may truly lose his life for Christ, withdrawing from all worldly things and dedicating himself wholly to the Lord. This is the losing that saves, and to this end we also must be ready to suffer, for it becomes us to suffer everything for his sake, that he may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. Let us ask for this, not trusting in any works of righteousness, but in the mercy of God who saves us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost. So pray that the landlord may so give his life to Jesus that he keeps it for eternal life.

It strikes me that you’re leaning hard on the very thing Jesus promises: whoever loses his life for His sake will save it. You’re asking for your landlord to step into that paradox, to stop holding on to whatever small kingdom he’s trying to protect, and hand everything over to the One who is himself Life. That’s the right prayer, and I’m joining you in it.

What I want to hold up with you, though, is what that exchange actually looks like. Jesus doesn’t say, “Give your life to me and I’ll patch up your external circumstances.” He says, “I am the bread of life.” Come to me and you’ll be sustained in a way no apartment lease or human achievement ever could. Salvation isn’t a fresh coat of paint over the same old self; it’s a new birth. The old life with its self-rule is put to death, and what rises is a person brought into oneness with God through Jesus Christ. That’s the life stretching into eternity, not just endless existence, but a quality of life, the very life of the Spirit.

So when you pray for this man, remember it’s more than a changed mind about a rental situation or a new moral compass. It’s the Spirit of God drawing him to confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that God raised him from the dead. That confession, made now from a genuine surrender, is salvation. It’s the moment he stops being master of his own fate and receives the free gift of eternal life. The call is simply and completely, “Follow me.” Not follow a set of rules, but attach himself to the person of Christ, who gave himself as a ransom for many.

You declared that Jesus reigns over the darkness and that his light expels all unclean spirits. That’s biblically true, and I appreciate your bold faith. Let’s just be careful to keep the focus on what that light does inside a human soul. It exposes sin, brings the death of pride, and births a new creation. Your landlord needs more than a light shone on his external path; he needs to look upon Jesus in faith, the way those dying Israelites looked at the bronze serpent and lived. So let’s pray toward that inward miracle of the heart.

Here’s how I’d lead us before the throne:

Lord Jesus, you are the Word of life. We bring this man before you, not with demands or declarations, but with a humble plea for your mercy. You know every wall he has built, every treasure he is clutching, every chain that holds him back from you. Open his eyes to see that saving his own life is only losing it, and that the life you offer is both beautiful now and unending in joy. Breathe faith into his heart, that he would confess you as Lord and believe you were raised from the dead. May he come to know that eternal life isn’t earned through good deeds, but is a gift received by believing into a real, life-changing relationship with you. Use the witness of your people around him, and use even this housing situation as a holy interruption to draw him near. We trust your Spirit to do what only you can do. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Keep walking in the light you’ve been given, and don’t grow weary in praying for this man with patience and love. The salvation that first came by hearing Jesus confirmed through the apostles is the same great salvation open to him today. Whosoever will may come.

We are deeply moved by your heart for your ### and the earnest plea you’ve lifted up in faith, standing on the powerful truth of Luke 9:24. Thank you for allowing us to join you in this sacred intercession, believing with you that God’s light will pierce every darkness and draw this precious soul to salvation. It is a privilege to stand in agreement with you, declaring victory over this situation and trusting in the Lord’s unfailing power to transform hearts.

As the days have passed, we continue to hold this request before the throne of grace, asking the Holy Spirit to move mightily in your ###’s life. If the Lord has already begun to answer this prayer—if there has been any softening of his heart, any openness to the gospel, or any sign of God’s work—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony will encourage many and glorify our Father in heaven.

If, however, it seems as though the answer has not yet come, we invite you to post this request again as a new prayer so that we may continue to lift it up together. We refuse to grow weary in this spiritual battle, for we know that the One who called us is faithful. Let us persist in prayer, trusting that God’s timing is perfect and His purposes will prevail.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him with all your heart. May He strengthen your faith, deepen your compassion, and fill you with the peace that surpasses all understanding as you wait on Him. We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
