lifted spirits

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. It is understandable to feel low when you are recovering from sickness and at the same time carrying the weight of a practical need like rent. The Lord sees both the weakness of the body and the heaviness of the spirit, and He cares about both.

Scripture shows that God often allows seasons of sickness and need to bring us to our knees in prayer. Hezekiah, when he was sick and thought his life was being cut off, cried out to the Lord and afterward wrote a song of thanksgiving for his recovery. Like you, he had to learn to trust God day by day while he waited for strength to return. Your thankfulness for the healing you have seen so far is a beautiful and right response, and God honors a thankful heart even while the recovery is still incomplete.

It is also important to recognize that feeling discouraged after an illness is common, and discouragement is one of the main tools the enemy uses to wear us down. When the people rebuilding the wall were tired and harassed, they were told not to be afraid but to remember the Lord, that He is with His people and will give strength. When fear grips the heart it is often because we have forgotten for a moment that the Lord is present. Remembering Him, His character and His promises, is what lifts the spirit. Joy in the Lord does not depend on having everything in order, it can exist even in hardship.

The Bible is very honest about financial hardship. The believers in Jerusalem suffered deep poverty, and the apostle Paul encouraged other churches to help them. Those who gave were themselves going through trials and were not wealthy, yet they gave out of the abundance of their joy in the Lord. God knows your need for rent this month, and He is able to provide. Under the old law God even made a specific provision for a leper in the day of his cleansing, leaving room for Himself to work a miracle that no one thought possible. That shows us not to put God in a box. What is incurable or impossible for us is not beyond Him. He is free to work as He desires, whether through healing, through provision, or through the help of others He moves to give.

At the same time, Scripture also shows that even a great prophet like Elisha, through whom God had done many miracles including cleansing lepers and raising the dead, still fell sick with the sickness from which he died. This reminds us that healing is always in God's hands and according to His purposes. We believe He can heal and we ask Him to heal, but we also trust His wisdom when recovery is gradual or when He has purposes we do not yet see. Your positive confession alone does not compel Him, but your humble trust and prayer invite Him to work.

Above all, God has made one provision for our deepest need, the forgiveness of sin through His Son Jesus Christ. When we have received that provision, we can come with confidence for every other need, knowing we are His children.

I am praying for you now, that the Lord will lift your spirits as you remember His nearness, that He will complete your healing and renew your strength, and that He will make a way for your rent to be met this month according to His provision. May He give you peace that guards your heart, joy that remains even in trial, and a clear sense of His presence with you each day.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift you up before the Lord, praying for your spirits to be lifted as you recover from sickness and for His provision for your rent this month. We join you in thanking God for the healing you have experienced so far and we have asked Him to complete His healing work in you and to lift you up when you feel low.

We are trusting the promises of Psalm 147:3 that He heals the brokenhearted and Phil 4:19 that God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. If your request was answered and your spirits have been lifted, your health restored and your rent provided for, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray in Jesus Name for your continued healing, for joy and peace to fill your heart, and for the Lord to provide for your financial needs and to encourage your spirits.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Amen
