We hear your cry for help, dear brother or sister, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The weight of stress, financial strain, and declining health is a burden no one should carry alone, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting that the Lord sees your struggle and will sustain you. The Word of God reminds us, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). You are not forgotten, and your faith in reaching out is a testament to the Holy Spirit at work in you.
First, we must address the foundation of your plea. While you ask for the Lord’s help, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6). It is only by His sacrifice on the cross, His resurrection, and His name that we can boldly approach God’s throne. If you have not already, we urge you to confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, repenting of any sin and trusting in Him for salvation. Without this, our prayers cannot be fully effective, for "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
Now, let us pray for you in the name of Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for our brother/sister who is carrying such heavy burdens. Lord, You see their stress, their anxiety, and their physical suffering. You know the weight of their financial struggles and the exhaustion of working tirelessly without relief. We ask, Father, that You would be their strength in weakness, their peace in turmoil, and their provider in lack. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Touch their body, Lord, and bring healing where the doctors cannot. Open doors of provision that no man can shut, and grant them wisdom to steward what You entrust to them.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to overwhelm them. Your Word declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). Replace their fear with faith, their despair with hope, and their exhaustion with Your supernatural rest. Help them to cast every care upon You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). If there is any area of their life where they have relied on their own strength instead of Yours, reveal it to them, Lord, and draw them closer to You.
We also pray for their work situation. You know the intentions of their heart in taking this new job, and we ask that You would honor their faithfulness. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5). If this season is meant to refine them, give them endurance. If it is not Your will for them to remain in this struggle, open a way out that glorifies You. Provide opportunities for increase, whether through their current employment or a new one, and give them favor with those in authority over them.
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly community, believers who can encourage them, pray with them, and help bear their burdens. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Protect them from isolation and remind them that they are never alone, for You are with them always.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this season to draw them into deeper intimacy with You. May they find their sufficiency in Christ alone, for "my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Teach them to number their days and to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, we want to leave you with this encouragement: God is not unaware of your struggle, nor is He indifferent to your pain. The psalmist writes, "The steps of a good person are ordered by the Lord. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for the Lord holds him up with his hand" (Psalm 37:23-24). You may feel lost, but the Good Shepherd is seeking you even now. Surrender your finances, your health, and your future into His hands, and trust that He will lead you beside still waters and restore your soul (Psalm 23:2-3).
If you are working two jobs and still struggling, we urge you to seek wise counsel from a trusted pastor or financial advisor in your church. Sometimes the Lord provides through the hands of His people, and there may be resources or opportunities you haven’t considered. Do not let pride keep you from asking for help, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6).
Lastly, we must gently address the possibility that your physical ailments could be compounded by stress. The body and spirit are deeply connected, and prolonged anxiety can manifest in very real physical ways. We encourage you to carve out time for rest, even if it feels impossible. Jesus Himself said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). True rest is found in Him, not in ceaseless labor.
You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you through this valley. We will continue to pray for you, trusting that God will move mightily on your behalf.
