Beloved of All
I am ###. I hope I am invited to ###'s birthday this year. Hope for no hail, tornadoes, nor earthquakes. Hope for sunny weather on ###. Hope my red medical scooter keeps working, it’s old. A friend ### is offering my mum ### and likely me a ride to a house my family has out of town, but they are problems, one is my dad ###’s health, others are events. If I am forced to go with my mum ###, it will be difficult to get things and won’t be able to go places like church, as I can’t walk far. Hope my dad will be able to lift heavy things again soon. Hope no manmade virus spreads. Hope not to get sick and hope to never get Ebola. Also hope that my mum gets the money she earned, as one company ### used to pay her now they are holding it (as far as I know).

We come before the Lord with your concerns, lifting each one to Him in prayer. First, we want to address the foundation of our faith, salvation through Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your trust in Him, we encourage you to do so, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Now, let us pray over your requests together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your sovereignty over all things, over the weather, over health, over provision, and over every detail of our lives. Lord, we ask that You would grant favor to in being invited to ’s birthday celebration. May this time be filled with joy and fellowship, and may the weather be sunny and free from hail, tornadoes, or earthquakes on that day. We declare Your promise from Psalm 135:6-7: "Whatever Yahweh pleases, He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps. He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings with the rain. He brings the wind out of His treasuries."

We also lift up ’s red medical scooter to You, Lord. You know its age and its importance in ’s mobility. We ask that You would sustain it, protect it from breakdown, and provide the means for its repair or replacement if needed. Your Word says in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Father, we pray for wisdom regarding the trip to the family’s out-of-town house. We ask that You would make a way for and ’s mother to attend without undue hardship, especially concerning transportation and accessibility. If it is Your will for them to go, provide strength, assistance, and the ability to participate in worship and fellowship at church. We declare Your promise in Isaiah 41:10: "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."

We intercede for ’s father, asking for restoration of his strength and health. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your healing power. We pray that he would regain the ability to lift heavy things, and we stand on Your Word in Jeremiah 30:17: "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says Yahweh.

Father, we also bring before You the concerns about sickness and viruses. We pray for protection over and all who are vulnerable. Guard them from illness, including Ebola, and any manmade or natural threats to health. We declare Psalm 91:5-6 over them: "You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday."

Lastly, Lord, we lift up the financial injustice ’s mother is facing. You see the situation, and You are a God of justice. We ask that You would intervene on her behalf, ensuring that she receives the wages she has earned. We declare Your Word in Proverbs 13:11: "Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow." May the company that is withholding her pay be convicted and moved to do what is right.

We trust in You, Lord, for You are faithful to hear and answer our prayers according to Your will. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard ’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for His glory and honor. Amen.

We encourage you to continue trusting in the Lord’s provision and timing. Even when circumstances seem uncertain, remember that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). If you feel anxious about any of these situations, we invite you to cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Keep seeking Him in prayer, and lean on His promises, for He is faithful.

We hear all the things on your heart,, the birthday invitation, the weather, your scooter keeping you moving, the trip and not wanting to be forced into a situation where you can’t get to church, your dad’s health, and the fear of sickness. That’s a lot to carry, and we don’t want to minimize how heavy it all feels, especially when your body already limits what you can do. We notice how much you value being able to go places and worship with others; losing that, even for a short trip, is a real concern.

When health feels fragile, your own and your dad’s, even small disruptions can magnify anxiety. Sometimes the most helpful thing is to focus on one or two practical pieces you can influence. If you haven’t recently, maybe a quick check-up for your red scooter would give you a little more confidence it can keep going. And about the possible trip: could you reach out to someone at church ahead of time? Even a brief word might open a door, maybe a ride back for a service, or knowing they’re praying for you while you’re away. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

For your dad’s strength, we join your hope, and we’d also gently encourage a doctor’s wisdom if he hasn’t had one, just to be sure nothing is being overlooked. And for your mum’s money, she might find it helpful to call the company with someone who can calmly ask questions and advocate for her.

In the middle of all this, we’re praying with you, not because we have easy answers, but because Jesus is near in every worry.

Jesus, you know each detail has named. Hold their scooter steady, and provide a way for them to stay connected to community and worship, wherever they end up. Please bring healing and renewed strength to their dad, and shield this family from disaster and illness. Quiet the fears that pile up, and replace them with a quiet confidence that you see and you care. Untangle the financial snag for their mum, and give them all daily courage. In your name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

This multitude of cares laid before the Throne of Grace must be met with that grand and Sovereign word which hushes every tempest of the soul: "This is the Father's will." Mark it well, how it sweeps away the "ifs" and the fevered anxieties of the morrow. You tremble at the thought of hail, of sickness, of a failing machine, or of a difficult journey with your parents; but what if all these things were resolved into that one mighty declaration which brought your heart to His bosom in ecstasy? When you read that mercy is the Father's will and that love is the Father's will, then every event is swallowed up in that deep, good pleasure. Fear not, then, that your believing will end in failure, for if you believe, it is the Father's will that you should have eternal life and be raised up at the last day. The petty tribulations of the road are but the dust upon the chariot wheels as they carry you home.

Hear then the command which is absolute and unqualified: "Fear not, thou worm Jacob." Why should you fear? Does not a father pity his child’s ignorance and weakness? You are full of concern over this money withheld and that scooter grown old, yet the Lord would have you labor to get rid of fear, for fear is weakening and it dishonours the Omnipotent. You tremble at the thought of a virus or the distant terror of Ebola, as if the arm which sustains the pillars of the earth could ever be palsied. This fear came into man’s heart with sin, and it brings a snare that has tripped many feet. Spurn this dread; listen instead to the promise given to chase away dismay with a whip of many thongs: "I will help thee." The text does not say, "Fear only so much," but gives an unlimited exhortation, "Fear not." Whether in fair weather or foul, in the bustling city or the quiet house out of town, lay hold of this.

And what of the burdens of your father’s health and the heavy things he must lift? What of the confined places where you cannot walk to church? It is precisely here, in the temporal things, that Christ preaches to His disciples again, saying, "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." The main way to overcome the fear of death and every lesser dread is to believe firmly in your Lord. In proportion as your faith gets stronger, your fear will vanish. Be not dismayed when you are eager for the gathering at ’s birthday or anxious about being forced onto a path you did not choose. Let your whole spirit be given up to that one great work of trusting Him, careless of what happens to the chrysalis of the outward man, so long as the soul is safe. All these things are the Father’s business; leave them with Him.

You bring many hopes before God, but examine whether they are hopes or earthly anxieties. You hope for an invitation to a birthday, for fair weather, for a machine to keep working, for escape from sickness and calamity. These are not the things for which the Christian chiefly prays. The Apostle says, "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." The Bridegroom's voice is what gives joy to the friend who stands and hears, not the safety of a red scooter, nor a sunny day. Why do you fill your prayer with such trifles? It is as though you entered the church wearing a ridiculous mass of ornaments, clay made master, forgetting that the Church is wedded to Christ through teaching and a heavenly voice.

Your hope must be set not on manmade devices or on the absence of storms, but on the salvation that comes from hearing and doing His commandments. You pray against hail, tornadoes, earthquakes, viruses, yet where is your prayer against sin, which shakes the soul more terribly than any earthquake? You hope never to get Ebola, but do you hope as fervently to be delivered from the fever of wrath, the plague of envy, the palsy of sloth? The body's death is a small matter compared to the death that comes from unrepented sin. Why do you stand in the church as if entering a pompous procession, decking your prayers with trivial wants?

And what of your hope to be invited to a birthday? Is the joy of a single day's feast to be set beside the eternal feast of the Bridegroom? The Church is not built to display your passing comforts. If you are forced to travel with your mother and face difficulties, consider that the servant is not above the master. Our Lord went where He was sent; He endured hardship. If you cannot go to church as you wish, remember that the Church is not walls but the body of believers throughout the world. You can stand with them in spirit, hearing the Word, even in a house out of town. Do not murmur. Rather, learn grammar well, so to speak. I will not cease dinning the same things into your ears until you truly learn: that whether bond or free, healthy or ailing, at home or away, the mind and disposition of the soul alone matter before God.

You hope your father will lift heavy things again, and you speak of your mother's money held back. Labour is honourable, and justice is good, but consider what all these are: earth and ashes. Mix water with them, and they are clay. Why be mastered by clay? Why let the profit or loss of a little coin disturb your soul? The noble birth of the patriarchs was not hindered by their mothers' slavery; neither will your true nobility be hindered by poverty or bodily weakness. The Church receives all equally, if their mind is set on Christ.

Set your prayers in order. First, seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Pray for a humble heart, a tongue that blesses even those who trouble you, a love that submits to God as the Church submits to Christ. If you add these, then ask for daily bread. But do not make the unlawful prayer that asks only for ease and protection from every breeze, while your soul lies exposed to the hurricane of judgment. Stand still and hear the voice of the Bridegroom. That is the true joy, whether the sun shines or the hail falls.

Your prayer request has been heard, and I want to speak into these concerns from the truth God has given us. Every worry you listed, weather, a working scooter, your dad’s strength, a virus, even the money owed, can be brought directly to your Father in heaven. Through Jesus Christ, you have bold and confident access. There is no need for any other go-between, no distant priest or saint. The Father himself loves you because you love his Son and believe that he came from God. So pray openly about the sunny day, the scooter, the trip, and your dad’s ability to lift again.

A well-worn prayer in Scripture asks that you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. That’s my hope for you. Not that physical circumstances always match our wishes, but that your inner life grows so deeply rooted in Christ that his peace overshadows every uncertainty. When you fear being forced into a difficult situation or not getting to church, remember that the church is first a family, not just a place. Even if you can’t attend for a time, you remain connected to a people who care, and the head of that body is Jesus himself. He will sustain you.

Your anxiety about manmade viruses and sickness is understandable, but do not let fear overshadow the truth that your life is hidden with Christ. We pray for protection, yet we rest in the reality that nothing touches us apart from the Father’s will. I pray you are spared illness and harm, and I also pray that even in the waiting, your trust deepens.

Regarding your dad’s health and the heavy lifting, God knows. He is the perfect Father, regardless of what our earthly fathers can or cannot do. If your own experience makes it hard to picture a reliable father, let Scripture reshape your image. He is for you, not against you.

For your mum’s money, the Lord cares about what is right. Bring that injustice before him and ask for clear resolution. He sees.

Above all, do not let these challenges isolate you. The body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens. Lean on others in the church, even a phone call or a note can remind you that you are not alone. Keep asking in Jesus’ name, and leave everything in the Father’s hands with the confidence that he hears you.
