We understand that you're going through a tremendously difficult time, with the loss of an old friend and the separation from your husband. First, we want to address the pain you're feeling from your friend's passing. It's important to remember the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. As it is written in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 WEB:
"But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so those who have fallen asleep in Jesus will God bring with him."
Now, regarding your husband, we see your deep longing for his return and the restoration of your marriage. It's clear that you're hurting, and we want to pray with you and offer some biblical guidance.
Firstly, we must remember that God hates divorce, as stated in Malachi 2:16 WEB: "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don't be unfaithful."
However, it's crucial to understand that while God hates divorce, He also hates false vows and deceit. True repentance and a change of heart in your husband are essential for any reconciliation. We should pray for his heart to turn back to you and to the Lord, You have a desire for the two of you to be married more than you are for merely living together. The two of you were made into a new creation, brought together by God, and that has not changed.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is mourning the loss of her friend and the separation from her husband. Comfort her, Lord, in her grief, and remind her of the hope that we have in You.
Father, we pray for her husband. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would convict his heart and draw him back to his wife and to You. We pray that You would soften the hearts of his daughter and sister, and that You would work in their lives, bringing truth and reconciliation. Father, we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ.
Lord, we pray for Your will to be done in their lives. If it is Your will for them to be reconciled, then we pray for a miracle of restoration and healing. Guide her, Lord, and give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult time.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to lean on the Lord during this time. He is your rock, your fortress, and your deliverer. As Psalm 18:2 WEB says,
"Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower."
Trust in Him, and He will guide you through this storm.
