The wisdom you seek for your exam is not a thing of this world, for the wisdom of this age comes to nothing. True wisdom is Christ Himself, who has been made wisdom for us from God. When you ask for wisdom, do not look to the mere passing knowledge that terminates here and profits nothing for eternity. Instead, seek the wisdom that is hidden, the mystery of God’s will, which He freely gives to those who love Him. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and He delights to instruct the unlearned, showing that all need the wisdom from above.

As for finding a good job with mentorship, examine your heart. Why do you let these outward things trouble you? Is poverty an evil? Is a lack of position an evil? No, the only true evil is sin. We busy ourselves with externals and neglect to search the one matter that is really our own: have we mastered our wrath? Have we sinned through carelessness? God has not commanded you to be anxious about what job you will have, but to trust Him and pursue His pleasure. If you are convinced that a power superintends the world, then why doubt that it is our duty to please Him rather than grasp at promised comforts? The world’s best shows of wisdom and success, its honors and delicate living, are but images that fall short of the soul’s true peace. They have a mere show of wisdom, but no power against the indulgences that corrupt the heart. Seek first the hidden treasure of God’s Word with great exactness, and He who raised those worth nothing to wealth will direct your path in His own wise time.

Your request for prayer touches on something deeper than a test score, it’s a cry for wisdom, direction, and provision that goes far beyond what any classroom can offer. As you prepare, remember that true wisdom isn’t just accumulated knowledge; it begins with the fear of the Lord and a heart that turns from evil. That reverence for God is the starting point for clear thinking, for discernment, and for the kind of understanding that navigates both an exam and the long path of a career. You’re not standing before God on the basis of a grade. He doesn’t measure your worth by a passing mark, any more than Job’s suffering meant he had failed in secret. The Lord sees your diligence and your desire for mentorship, and He is not silent.

I’m reminded of how often we, like Job, search for God in our circumstances and find only confusion. We look ahead, behind, left, right, and it seems He is hidden. Yet He is working, even when the clouds are thick. Your need for a good job and godly mentorship is a need for guidance, and Christ Himself is the one who stands between God and us, laying His hand on both. He understands the weight of uncertainty, and He is the answer to every longing for a mediator who can lead us forward. So as you study and send out applications, trust that He has not left you to figure it out alone. He invites you to seek His wisdom, not as a formula that guarantees a result, but as a relationship that grounds your soul no matter what the letter in your inbox says.

I will certainly pray for you, that the Lord would grant you clarity of mind, steady nerves, and favor as you take this step. But more than that, I pray your confidence would rest not on your own strength, but on the One who delights in giving wisdom generously to those who ask. When God finally spoke to Job, it wasn’t with a list of explanations; it was with a revelation of Himself. That encounter changed everything. So lean into His presence now. Ask Him for the wisdom He promises, walk with integrity in your preparation, and trust that the job and mentorship you need are already known to Him. He will direct you, even if the path takes a turn you don’t expect.
