Let's thank Jesus for this morning!

Humble Servant of All
It's always a good day! Thank you Lord! Thank you for freeing me from my sins and forgiving me of my sin. I pray that I can find out what is causing me to do this sin so that I may overcome it using your willpower and strength. I pray that all negative everything in our life will be cast away by you, Lord Jesus! Thank you for being so good! I pray that I can find a good hobby so that I will not get bored and fall into lust! I pray that if any false convictions are in my life then they are cast away, I pray that everyone here is having a good day and if they aren't I pray it gets instantly better, in Jesus name, amen!

We join you in thanking Jesus for this morning and for the gift of a new day, for this is the day that Yahweh has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it Psalm 118:24. We praise Him with you for His mercy and forgiveness, for His loving kindnesses never fail and they are new every morning, great is His faithfulness Lamentations 3:22-23.

We rejoice that you are seeking victory over sin and especially over lust, and we want to encourage you in this battle. You asked to find what is causing this sin so you may overcome it by His willpower and strength, and we affirm that true victory does not come from our own willpower alone but from the power of the Holy Spirit working in us, for it is not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says Yahweh of Armies Zechariah 4:6. When we try in our own strength we will fail, but when we walk by the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh Galatians 5:16.

The Word shows us that lust often begins in the heart and mind before it becomes an action, for each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed, then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin James 1:14-15. That is why we are called to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to be transformed by the renewing of our mind Romans 12:2. Boredom and idleness can indeed be an open door for temptation, so your desire for a good and wholesome hobby is wise. We encourage you to choose activities that honor God and build you up, whether it be studying the Word, serving others, exercise, music, or learning a skill, and to fill your mind with whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report Philippians 4:8. Above all we urge you to flee sexual immorality and flee youthful lusts 1 Corinthians 6:18, 2 Timothy 2:22, which means not to linger or fight it up close but to run from it, to make no provision for the flesh Romans 13:14, to guard your eyes and your heart, and to remove access to anything that stirs up lust.

You also prayed that false convictions would be cast away, and we agree with you there. There is a difference between the true conviction of the Holy Spirit which leads us to repentance and the false condemnation of the enemy which leads to shame and despair. For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him John 3:17, and there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1. If God convicts us, He does so to restore us and to create in us a clean heart Psalm 51:10, not to crush us. We pray you will learn to discern His loving correction and reject the lies of the enemy.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we thank You in the name of Jesus for this new morning and for Your forgiveness that has freed us from sin through the blood of Your Son. We thank You for this dear one who desires to walk in purity before You. Lord, we ask that You search this heart and reveal any root, any wound, any habit or thought pattern that gives place to lust, and give wisdom and strength to overcome it. Fill this life with Your Holy Spirit so that temptation loses its power, for You have promised that no temptation has taken us except what is common to man and You are faithful, You will not allow us to be tempted above what we are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape 1 Corinthians 10:13. Help us to see and take that way of escape every time. We ask that You cast away all negativity, all false guilt and every lie, and replace it with Your truth and peace. Lead to wholesome and godly pursuits and hobbies that occupy the hands and mind for Your glory and keep us from idleness. Draw us closer to You daily, create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us Psalm 51:10. Help us to submit to You and resist the devil so he will flee from us James 4:7. We pray for everyone who is struggling today, that You would lift them up and let them feel Your goodness and nearness. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We join you in thanking Jesus for this morning and for His forgiveness. Your grateful heart and your honest desire to walk free really encouraged us.

Wanting to understand what pulls you toward this sin is a good and humble place to start. We have found it helps to think of growth less as trying harder in the moment and more as training over time, like getting ready for a long race. Small, steady practices shape us gradually, and it allows us to see ourselves as works in progress instead of expecting everything to change at once.

Your idea about finding a good hobby is wise. That restless, bored feeling often comes when we want to do something but do not know what to do, and having something good ready can make a real difference. Maybe choose one simple, life-giving option to try this week, something that keeps your hands and mind engaged and ideally gets you around other people, like a sport, music, serving at church, or learning a hands-on skill. Notice when boredom creeps in and have that healthier choice ready to turn to.

We also hear your prayer about false convictions. Bringing those thoughts into the light with a trusted pastor or mature friend can help you sort what is true and what is not. You do not have to figure this out alone, and having someone to check in with can make the path steadier.

Jesus, thank You for our brother's thankful heart and for Your forgiveness and goodness to him. Give him wisdom to see what triggers temptation, strength to walk in Your ways, and joy in new habits that draw him closer to You. Clear away what is false and harmful and lead him day by day in Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a good thing to join you in thanking the Lord Jesus Christ this morning for His mercy, for the forgiveness of sins through His blood, and for every new day that His goodness gives. A thankful heart is itself a gift of grace, and to hear you praise Him for freeing you is cause for rejoicing.

Your prayer to understand what causes you to fall into sin and to overcome it in His strength is a wise and needful one. Scripture teaches that sin has a pedigree, when lust has conceived it brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished brings forth death. The root is not merely outward habit or boredom, but lust within the heart that must be brought to Christ for cleansing. Charity and purity are the two great garments of the Christian life, and purity cannot be set aside. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord, and charity without purity will be of no use. True strength to walk in holiness does not come from willpower alone, but from Divine Grace. We overcome not by our own resolve, but by looking to the Lord Jesus Christ for all things, as a living and present Friend and Saviour who supplies what we lack.

Your desire for a good and useful occupation is right. An idle hour is a perilous hour, and the prayer our Lord taught us, Lead us not into temptation, reminds us that temptation itself is dangerous even though God can bring trial for our good. That prayer is not only to be spoken but to be lived. The man who prays Lead us not into temptation and then willingly goes into it contradicts his own prayer. So flee what feeds lust, turn from what entices it, and fill your time with what is pure and charitable, whether honest work, service to the fatherless and widows in their affliction, the study of the Word, prayer, and fellowship with faithful believers. Providence often helps us by removing us from old companions and occasions of sin, but we must also choose the path of wisdom and not spare the sin that would ensnare us.

We join you in praying that the Lord will cast away what is false and keep what is true, that He will give you discernment to know His convictions from every false one, and that He will keep you standing fast by His grace. May He guard your eyes and heart, teach you to hate the temptation even when it presses hard, and save you from staining your garments. May He fill your day with His presence, so that longing for Him overcomes every lesser longing, and may His joy be yours and be shared with all who hear your prayer.

We thank God with you and pray that He will keep you, cleanse you, and make you to walk in newness of life, for His name and glory, amen.
