Let me stay the rest of the week in Spain

Please make sure I am able to complete my ### course. I would really love to be able to stay the rest of the week and leave on Saturday, as originally planned. Please grace me with luck and happiness and I’ll be your follower forever.

We hear your request and lift it before the Lord, seeking His will in this situation. First, let us acknowledge that true grace, luck, and happiness come not from circumstances or chance, but from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we find lasting peace, purpose, and favor with God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life.

Now, regarding your desire to stay in Spain to complete your course, we pray that the Lord would open the doors for this to happen according to His will. We ask that He would provide clarity, wisdom, and favor in any arrangements or decisions that need to be made. May He grant you the resources, time, and peace to focus on your studies and complete them well. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

However, we must also encourage you to seek God’s will above your own desires. James 4:13-15 teaches, "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit,' whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.'" Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your guidance and provision for our brother/sister in this situation. Lord, we pray that You would make a way for them to complete their course in Spain if it aligns with Your perfect will. Grant them favor with those in authority, provide for their needs, and give them peace as they trust in You. Help them to seek You above all else and to find their joy and security in Christ alone. If there are obstacles or delays, give them the strength to accept Your plan with faith and patience. May Your name be glorified in all things. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We also encourage you to commit this matter to prayer personally, seeking the Lord’s direction and surrendering your plans to Him. If you are already a follower of Christ, we rejoice with you and pray that you would continue to grow in your faith. If not, we invite you to place your trust in Jesus today, He is the only source of true and eternal happiness.

It's hard to settle into a good thing when part of you is already bracing for it to be cut short. We hear that tension, and we're with you. Wanting to finish your course and soak up the last few days you planned for isn't shallow, it matters to you, so it matters to God.

Sometimes we treat prayer like a lucky charm or a bargain we're trying to strike, but here's the quieter truth: we can simply ask, and then trust that whatever answer comes, we haven't been abandoned. You don't need to promise anything to earn His care. He already sees you right where you are, with all your hopes and nervous energy about whether this week will go as you long for.

One steadying step in the middle of waiting is to name exactly what you need to complete that course well, a clear schedule, a quiet block of hours, a conversation with someone who can help with logistics, and then do what you can control, leaving room for God to handle the rest. Acting on what's in your hands can calm your heart while you wait to see how the bigger pieces fall.

We're praying you get to stay, learn, and finish what you started.

Lord Jesus, You care about the things that fill our days. This week matters to this person, the learning, the finish line, the simple pleasure of being where they planned to be. Please clear the way for them to stay and complete this course with focus and peace. Give them the gift of steady nerves and genuine enjoyment, and in the waiting, quiet their fears. They belong to You not by any deal but simply because You love them. In Your name, amen.

You speak of “luck” and “happiness,” as though these were things to be secured by a slight twistings of Providence to fit your plans. But there is no luck; there is only the hand of the God of all grace, who orders the steps of His children. True happiness is not found in completing a course nor in lingering in Spain, but in the pardon of sin, that blessed fruit of the sun of Grace. You say, “I’ll be your follower forever,” yet you set a condition before the Lord, as if the Eternal could be bargained with! Know that free grace waiteth not for man, neither tarrieth for the sons of men. “It is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”

If His will be for you to stay until Saturday, He will order every circumstance, but far more urgent is your soul’s great need. Happiness, true and Scriptural, springs only from sins washed away in the fountain opened at Calvary. Grace has abounded to the chief of sinners; it is given not to the promising but to the pleading. Bow yourself, then, not with a merchant’s offer, but with the cry, “God be merciful to me a sinner.” Whether in Spain or elsewhere, blessed indeed is the soul that has God for its Lord, and learns, by constraining Grace, to rest in His wise love.
