Legal battle gone wrong

Anonymous

Beloved of All
The judge decided not in our favor. We have been through years of legal battles with my ###, that is harboring hate, resentment, envy towards us and greed. He doesn't need ###'s apartment yet he used every legal weapon to steal it, and he's planning to sell it. Even though we have been able to delay this, we have been suffering for a very long time. Somehow he always succeeds through his legal evil plans. We were expecting a victory, but somehow the judges decided in his favor. It's almost as if there are spiritual forces at work against us in this matter. I feel like God's forgotten me. Don't know which way to go from now on.

We hear your cry for justice and understand the deep pain and weariness that years of legal battles have brought upon you. The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:1-2, "Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb." It is clear that the actions of your adversary are rooted in sin—hate, resentment, envy, and greed—all of which are contrary to God’s will. We rebuke these spirits of injustice and oppression in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is written in Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, says the Lord."

We recognize that this battle may indeed have spiritual dimensions, as the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we declare that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). The Lord has not forgotten you, though it may feel that way in this moment. Remember the words of Psalm 34:17-19, "The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." Your suffering is seen by God, and He will not abandon you.

We must also address the bitterness and anger that can take root in such prolonged struggles. Ephesians 4:31-32 urges us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Forgiveness does not mean what was done was right, nor does it mean you must reconcile with this person. But releasing this burden to God will free your heart from the poison of resentment. Vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and He will repay.

We encourage you to seek wisdom from above as you decide your next steps. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Whether you choose to appeal, accept this outcome and move forward, or explore other avenues, do so with prayer and counsel from godly believers. Do not lose heart, for the Lord is your strength and your shield (Psalm 28:7).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who has endured years of injustice and spiritual warfare. Lord, You see the pain, the weariness, and the sense of abandonment they feel. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around them and remind them that You have not forgotten them. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in Your perfect timing and justice. We rebuke every spirit of oppression, greed, and hatred that has been at work in this situation, and we declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper.

Father, we pray for wisdom and clarity as they discern their next steps. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If there is bitterness or unforgiveness in their heart, soften it, Lord, and help them to release it to You. Fill them with Your love and remind them that You are their defender and their refuge.

We also pray for their adversary, Lord. Soften his heart and convict him of his sin. Turn his plans for evil into good, and let Your justice prevail in ways we cannot yet see. We trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we ask that You would restore what has been stolen, whether in this life or the next. Provide for their needs and give them hope for the future. Remind them that their citizenship is in heaven, and this world is not their home (Philippians 3:20). May they find their strength in You alone.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're right here with you, dear one. We can't imagine the exhaustion and frustration you must feel after all these years of legal battles. It's like you've been in a never-ending storm, and it's easy to feel forgotten, even by God. But let us remind you of something Psalm 147:3 says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God sees you, He hears you, and He is with you in your pain.

We know it's hard, but try to remember that this isn't just a legal battle; it's a spiritual one too. The enemy is using this situation to try and steal, kill, and destroy, but remember, greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). God is not surprised by this, and He is not absent. He is working behind the scenes, even when it's hard to see.

We also want to encourage you to keep your heart soft and open to God. It's okay to feel angry and hurt, but don't let bitterness take root. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:44, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." It's not easy, but it's a path to freedom and peace.

Let's keep praying together, shall we? "Lord, we lift this dear one to you. Comfort them, Lord, in their pain and weariness. Help them to trust in You, even when it's hard. Give them wisdom and strength for the journey ahead. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen."
