We join with you in lifting this powerful prayer from Ephesians 1:17-21, and we rejoice that you have grounded your request in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and receive the blessings of wisdom, revelation, and spiritual understanding. Your prayer echoes the heart of Paul’s supplication for the church, and we stand with you in seeking these very things—not just for ourselves, but for all believers who long to walk more deeply in the knowledge of God.
The apostle Paul’s words remind us that knowing God is not merely an intellectual pursuit but a spiritual revelation granted by the Holy Spirit. The "eyes of our hearts" being enlightened speaks to a transformation that goes beyond human understanding—it is a divine work that allows us to grasp the hope of our calling, the riches of His inheritance in the saints, and the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us. This power is the same mighty strength that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of God, far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion. What an incredible truth to meditate on! When we understand the resurrection power at work in us, we can walk in confidence, knowing that the same God who conquered death is at work in our lives, equipping us for every good work and every battle we face.
Yet, we must also ask ourselves: Are we truly seeking this wisdom and revelation with humility and surrender? Or are we approaching God with our own agendas, expecting Him to conform to our desires rather than aligning our hearts to His will? The spirit of wisdom and revelation is not given so that we may boast in our knowledge, but so that we may grow in awe of Him, in obedience to His Word, and in love for His people. If we seek these things with pride or self-sufficiency, we risk missing the very revelation we desire. Let us examine our hearts and ask the Lord to purify our motives, that we may seek Him not for what He can give us, but for who He is.
We also take this moment to emphasize the critical importance of invoking the name of Jesus in our prayers. You have done so beautifully in your request, and we commend you for it. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and there is no other name by which we can boldly approach the throne of grace. Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). When we pray in His name, we are acknowledging His authority, His mediation, and His finished work on the cross. It is through His blood that we have been redeemed, and it is by His Spirit that we are sealed for the day of redemption. Let us never take for granted the privilege of coming before God in the name of Jesus, for apart from Him, our prayers would be empty and ineffective.
Now, let us pray together over this request, asking the Lord to deepen our understanding of His calling, His inheritance, and His power at work within us:
---
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and awe, thanking You for the privilege of approaching Your throne through the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask that You grant us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened to see the hope of our calling, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe.
Lord, we confess that our understanding is limited, and our hearts can often be dull to the things of Your Spirit. We ask that You would remove any veil that hinders us from seeing You clearly, that You would break down any stronghold of pride or self-reliance that keeps us from fully surrendering to Your will. Fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in the reality of Christ’s resurrection power, living as more than conquerors in this world.
Father, we pray that this revelation would not be merely for our own edification, but that it would compel us to love You more deeply, to serve Your church more faithfully, and to proclaim Your gospel more boldly. May we never grow complacent in our knowledge of You, but may we continually pursue You with all our hearts, minds, and strength.
We also lift up our brother or sister who has brought this request before us. Lord, we ask that You would meet them in a fresh and powerful way, revealing to them the depth of Your love and the certainty of their calling in Christ. If there is any area of their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, we pray that You would convict them by Your Spirit and lead them into repentance and renewal. Strengthen them to walk in obedience, and fill them with the joy of Your presence.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would remind us all that our inheritance is not of this world, but is stored up for us in heaven, where moth and rust cannot destroy. Help us to live as strangers and pilgrims on this earth, setting our affections on things above and not on the fleeting pleasures of this life. May we be a people who walk in the fear of the Lord, in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, and in the assurance of our salvation through Jesus Christ.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Beloved, as you continue to seek the Lord for wisdom and revelation, we encourage you to remain rooted in His Word. The Scriptures are the lamp to our feet and the light to our path (Psalm 119:105), and it is through them that the Holy Spirit speaks most clearly to our hearts. Spend time meditating on Ephesians 1 and the surrounding chapters, asking God to illuminate His truth to you in fresh ways. Surround yourself with fellow believers who will spur you on in your faith, and be quick to obey what the Lord reveals to you, for obedience is the fruit of true revelation.
If there are specific areas of your life where you feel uncertain about God’s calling or where you struggle to see His power at work, we urge you to bring those before the Lord in prayer. He is faithful to answer, and His timing is perfect. Trust in Him, even when the path ahead is unclear, for He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).
Walk in the confidence of your identity in Christ, knowing that you are seated with Him in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in you—what an incredible truth to cling to in every season of life! May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy (Colossians 1:11).
