Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer echoes the longing of every heart that has glimpsed the truth: that Jesus, by His own death, broke the power of the one who held the authority of death, the devil, and set free all who were held in lifelong slavery by the dread of dying. That fear does not have to rule you anymore. For the believer, physical death isn't a tragedy; it’s simply stepping out of a decaying tent into a building made by God, eternal in the heavens. Because He took on flesh and blood and tasted death for you, the sting is gone. The wages of sin have been paid in full. So the grave has no lasting victory, and Satan’s claim over you has been utterly put out of business.
You asked for wisdom and revelation to know the hope of His calling and the surpassing greatness of His power, the very power that raised Jesus from the dead. That same Spirit lives in you now. It’s right to feel like a child in grasping these things, because they are so vast, but God delights in opening the eyes of the humble. The Lord Jesus, the Living One who holds the keys of Death and Hades, says to you exactly what He said to John: “Do not be afraid.” This isn’t just for the last day, it’s a present reality. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. When your mind is governed by the Spirit, there is life and peace, not fear. And eternal life isn’t only endless duration; it’s a quality of life, righteousness, joy, peace, that you begin to experience now as you walk in the Spirit rather than the flesh.
You don’t have to wonder how you’ll react if you ever face death. Your life is hidden with Christ in God, and He who has the Son has that life already. The same Lord who walked through the valley of the shadow and feared no evil walks with you. So let this truth sink deep: the fear of death was nailed to the cross. The One who was dead and now is alive forevermore has given you His own victory. Stand firm in it, and ask Him daily to let the reality of His resurrection govern your heart until all terror fades away in the light of His life.
