🙌 Father, we thank You for only the beginning of our salvation, yet ask for more understanding of eternal life through Jesus Christ, “who by His death, defeated him that had the power of death, that is the devil, and liberated those who through fear of death were enslaved to fear their entire lives," Heb 2:14-15, destroy fear of death among believers… Give us wisdom and revelation to understand You, the hope of our calling, the riches of Your inheritance, and the exceeding greatness of Your power You exerted in Christ in the resurrection, Eph 1:17-19.

We confess we are like children in grasping these things. Open our minds to understand the Scriptures, Lk 24:45, even to understand the Scriptures and the Power of God, Mk 12:24. Help us know what Jesus is saying and John testified, “When I saw Jesus, I fell at His feet like a dead man. But He placed His right hand on me and said, ‘Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, The Living One -- I was dead, and behold, NOW I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and of Hades,’” Rev 1:17-18. Thank You in advance, Heb 11:6, in Jesus’ Name.

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the victory secured through our Lord Jesus Christ. You have indeed shattered the chains of death and the fear that once held us captive. We rejoice in the truth that through His death and resurrection, Jesus has rendered powerless the devil, who once wielded the power of death, and set us free from the lifelong bondage of fear (Hebrews 2:14-15). This is not just a theological concept but a living reality for every believer, and we thank You for the freedom we have in Christ.

Father, we confess that at times we struggle to fully grasp the depth of Your love and the magnitude of Your power. We are like children, eager to learn but often limited in our understanding. We ask that You would open our minds to comprehend the Scriptures more fully (Luke 24:45) and to know the hope to which You have called us, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the immeasurable greatness of Your power toward us who believe. This power is the same as the mighty strength You exerted when You raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:17-19). Let this truth sink deep into our hearts and transform our lives.

We are in awe of the revelation given to John, where Jesus declares, "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, the Living One; I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and Hades" (Revelation 1:17-18). What a profound comfort this is! The One who holds the keys to death and the grave is alive forevermore, and He is with us. We need not fear, for He has conquered death and offers us eternal life.

Lord, we ask that You would deepen our understanding of eternal life. Help us to see it not just as a future hope but as a present reality that shapes how we live today. Teach us to walk in the power of Your resurrection, living lives that reflect the victory we have in Christ. May we be bold witnesses of Your love and grace, sharing the good news of salvation with those who are still enslaved by the fear of death.

We also recognize that fear can manifest in many ways, fear of the unknown, fear of suffering, fear of loss. But perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and Your love is perfect. Fill us with Your love so that fear has no place in our hearts. Remind us daily that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37), and that nothing can separate us from Your love (Romans 8:38-39).

Father, we thank You for the assurance of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. We pray that as we grow in our understanding of these truths, our lives would be a testament to Your power and grace. May we live with confidence, knowing that because He lives, we too shall live (John 14:19). Strengthen our faith, Lord, and help us to encourage one another with these words, building each other up in the most holy faith (Jude 1:20).

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the deep, honest longing in your words, not just to affirm the facts of Christ's victory, but to have them settle so firmly in your soul that the fear of death loses its grip entirely. That desire itself is a sign of the Spirit at work, because He loves to take what feels like head-knowledge and make it pulse through our whole being.

When we find ourselves feeling like children in grasping these things, it can help to step away from striving and simply soak in the resurrection accounts again, not as passages to be mastered, but as scenes to be entered. Picture the empty tomb in the early light, the sound of Jesus speaking Mary's name, the startled joy of the disciples locked in a room. Let the reality of those moments wash over you slowly, asking the Holy Spirit to give you the same inner knowing He gave them. Sometimes music carries this truth deeper than words alone can go; a hymn or worship song that celebrates Christ's triumph over death can play in the background of your day and quietly re-train your heart.

Remember, we're not straining to earn a revelation. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is already at work in you, and even your ache for more is His invitation.

Lord Jesus, we lift up our fellow believer who yearns to know the fullness of eternal life in You. Quiet their striving and remove whatever mental fog clouds their view. Let the truth that You hold the keys of Death and Hades become as real as the ground under their feet, so that peace replaces fear and joyful confidence rises. In Your mighty name, amen.

Your prayer breathes the very spirit of the child of God who longs to be done with the bondage of the fear of death. It is a cry after that full deliverance which Christ has purchased for all His own, and I joyfully join you in seeking the Spirit’s light upon these holy mysteries. The fear of death is natural to man as a sinner; indeed, it subserves a high purpose in the economy of mankind, for many a soul has been restrained from self-destruction by this very dread. Yet for the believer, it is not necessary, it is a lingering remnant of our fallen estate from which Christ has come to set us free. You have rightly laid hold of that precious word in Hebrews: that by His own death He destroyed him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and delivered those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Mark well, the fear is destroyed because the power is shattered. Death is no longer the king of terrors to him who is in Christ; its sting is drawn, its dungeon is become a passage to glory.

Happy is that man who is in a prepared state, for he need have no fear of death. To be so prepared, use the telescope very frequently. Look beyond the narrow stream to the Canaan on the other side. Ponder the resurrection of your Lord, for it is linked with the fullness of eternal glory. The blaze of that resurrection lights up the whole length of the Valley of the Shadow of Death. His rising again has set a diadem upon His own death, and it assures you that because He lives, you shall live also. The very keys that once locked the grave are now held in His pierced hand. When He says, “I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I hold the keys of Death and of Hades,” let that voice scatter every shadow. You have confessed that you are like a child in grasping these things. So be it, for the Lord loves to reveal His strength in our weakness. When the sentence of death assumes the form of an experience of despair as to everything that is of our own selves, then it has thoroughly worked the cure. Trust not in your own understanding; lean wholly upon the arm that raised up Jesus.

The exceeding greatness of His power toward us, which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead, is the same power that breathes new life into every dead soul and will quicken your mortal body. Cry after that power now! Seek from the Lord such a sight of the risen Son of God that you may fall at His feet as one dead, and yet feel His right hand upon you, saying, “Fear not.” The Holy Spirit must open the Scriptures to us, or we shall never behold the wondrous things of His law. Lie low before Him, pleading that He would grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, you may know what is the hope of His calling. And as you ask, believe. The name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth is full of power; it has cast out devils, healed diseases, and lifted the lame to their feet. It can lift you out of tormenting dread into the liberty of the sons of God. Your request is already sealed in heaven if it is offered in that Name, for you ask according to His will. What need I say more? Go from your knees to walk in the light of this eternal life, a life not earned by your own efforts but given freely to as many as the Father has given to the Son. Let the nearness of death and the shortness of life be to you as double spurs to stimulate your jaded spirit to fresh action. Live now even as Jesus lived, no longer viewing the grave with terror, but with eyes that see through it to the resurrection morning. The Lord guard you from a dread surprise in death, and cause you even now to taste the powers of the world to come.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for the fear of death to be destroyed among believers, and rightly so, for this is the very heart of Christ's triumph. Do you not hear what the apostle declares? Through death He defeated him that had the power of death, that is the devil, and liberated all who through fear of death were subject to lifelong bondage. Consider what this means. The one who fears death is a slave, cowering before every threat, clinging to life at any cost. But the one who has learned to despise death through Christ stands higher than all men, free from every tyranny. When the devil finds a soul that counts not even its life dear, what hold can he have? None at all. For if a man is ready to die for the truth, shall he fear loss of property or banishment? These are small matters to him who has already given up everything.

You confess that you are like a child in grasping these things. But this is the very place to begin. Christ Himself calls death nothing more than sleep. When He came to the ruler's daughter, He said plainly, "The maid is not dead, but sleepeth." So it is with all who have died in Him. Since He Himself was to die, He prepares His disciples beforehand to bear the end meekly. Death is from that time forward become a sleep, and a sleep that leads to a kingdom. Consider how Paul reasoned. When he was in bonds, he did not say, "I am about to die, and that is my shame." No, he said that whether by life or by death, Christ would be magnified in his body. He counted death as gain, not loss. That is the true mark of a Christian soul.

You pray for wisdom and revelation to know the exceeding greatness of God's power in raising Christ. This is what you must understand: the power that raised Him is the same power at work in you who believe. If you have been planted together in the likeness of His death through baptism, you shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection. For if you have shared in His death and burial, how much more will you share in His resurrection and life? The greater thing, sin itself, has already been done away with. Why then should you doubt about the lesser, the doing away of death? The light has shone in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Christ by enduring death has so overcome death that He has recovered those already held by it. He holds the keys of Death and Hades, and He has opened the prison doors.

Do not expect to feel boldness all at once. This understanding grows as you take up your cross daily. Jesus said not, "Let him renounce himself once," but, "Let him take up his cross," meaning you are to bear about this death continually, day by day ready for slaughter. For many have despised riches and pleasure, but death they still feared. Yet Christ wills that His champion should wrestle even unto blood, and that the limits of his course should reach unto slaughter, counting it all joy. When you set your mind to this, you begin to be conformed to His death not only in the likeness of baptism but in the actual suffering of your body. Then you will know the power of His resurrection in a way mere words cannot teach.

The apostle Paul strove toward this very thing. He endured all things, if by any means he might attain to the resurrection from the dead. He did not mean the common resurrection, for all will rise, some to honor and some to punishment. He meant that resurrection which leads straight to Christ Himself, the resurrection of those who have become true brothers to Him in suffering. That is a great and fearsome dignity. Not everyone who rises will share in that intimacy. But the one who dies with Christ, who fears no tyrant because he has already passed through the fear, will know the exceeding greatness of His power.

Do you see now what you are asking? It is not a matter of merely assenting to the truth. You must so set your hope on God that no event can shake you. When death approaches, it casts no terror; when life continues, you are bold in preaching and living. For if the fear of death could cut short your boldness, then death would be worthy of shame. But if you have been liberated from that fear, there is no shame anywhere. Look at the martyrs. They stood before judges who could only threaten death, and they laughed. Why? Because they had already died to the world. They had taken up the cross and found it lighter than the dainties of those who sit in prison houses, dreading the sentence. That is your calling. That is what Christ purchased for you.

So when you see Jesus in the Revelation as the Living One who was dead and is now alive forevermore, do not let your mind shrink back as though seeing a ghost. He places His right hand on you and says, "Do not be afraid." He does not speak this to the fearless by nature, but to those who have admitted their terror and yet believe. Your confession of childishness is no hindrance. The one who says "I cannot grasp it" is already being taught. Open your eyes then to the Scriptures. Recognize that the death of sin is past, and the death of the body is a sleep. He who has delivered you from the greater will certainly deliver you from the lesser. The keys are in His hand, not the devil's. He opens and no one shuts. He calls you forth into a life that no death can touch. Let this mind be in you, and pray with confidence, for you have already received what you ask.
