I hear the ache in that popping knee, and I carry a similar reminder in my own body. An old injury still speaks to me with every step. It has become a kind of thorn, a quiet tutor that the glory of this world is passing and what lingers is often pain. Yet the Lord uses even such thorns to turn our hearts toward what is lasting. That knee can become a prompt to bow now, willingly, to the One before whom every knee will one day bow, and to confess with your whole life that Jesus Christ is Lord. Bowing now brings mercy; waiting until that final day will not.
You also face a messy tangle with insurance and fees that feel unjust. Bring that weight to the One who took all our injustice upon Himself. The just died for the unjust that He might bring us to God. He knows the frustration of dealing with broken systems and hearts that seem hard. Ask Him not only to work in that phone call but to settle your own heart in His perfect justice. His law is good, meant to protect us from deeper misery, even when we cannot trace His hand.
And this heat, He is your shade and your keeper. The One who spoke the sun into being can surely guard you when it beats down. One day all this groaning, the aching knees and the scorching days, will be gone. No more pain, no more death, no more sweltering heat. The former things will pass away. Until then, we cry out for mercy, and He hears. I join you in asking for a perfectly timed call, for fees to be waived, for a record set straight, and for coolness in the coming days. He is able. Every knee will bow to the One who holds authority over every claim, every dollar, and every wave of heat. Rest in that.
