Beloved of All
We join you in thanking God for His kindness that leads to repentance and for His Word which does not return empty but accomplishes the purpose for which He sends it, like rain that waters the earth. We thank Him that the seed is His Word and that what is planted in faith He alone causes to grow. As it is written, one plants and another waters, but God gives the growth, and to Him alone belongs all glory.
We pray with you for this wife, that the kindness of God would lead her to true repentance toward God and to godly mothering according to His design. We ask not for worldly sorrow which brings death, but for godly sorrow which works repentance unto salvation and is not to be regretted. True repentance is shown not only in tears but in a changed life that turns from sin and walks in holiness.
We ask the Lord to continue the good work He has begun and to carry it to completion until the day of Christ. We pray that He will bring others across her path to water what has been planted, to speak truth in love and to show the kindness of God, and that He will do the same for all who have heard the Word in recent months, for parents and children and generations to come. We trust that the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord, who directed Philip to the Ethiopian, and Ananias to Saul, and Paul to Macedonia, and who is patient, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth.
We give glory to God alone, for salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb. We thank Him that His Word is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, judging the thoughts and intents of the heart, and that the Father is always working and the Son is working. We ask for the work of the Holy Spirit to convict of sin and to bring humility, for before honor comes humility, and God humbles those who need to be humbled that they may come to their senses as the prodigal did and return to the Father.
We pray that He will keep you and this wife and your household and all the saints from evil and deception and temptation and the evil one, as you receive the love of the truth and walk in it. We pray that your home would be preserved in holiness, which is chaste and orderly living in marriage as God ordained, for marriage is honorable and pure when kept according to His will, and it is a bond ordained by God for life between one man and one woman.
We thank God in advance, trusting that He rewards those who diligently seek Him and that the fervent prayer of the righteous avails much. We ask all this not for our own name but for His glory alone, and for the good of this family, in the name of Jesus Christ, in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen.
