We join you in this prayer and we agree together for the kindness of God to lead this wife to repentance and to godly mothering, and for the Lord to be glorified in all of it.
We love how you have anchored this request in the Word, for it is the goodness of God that leads to repentance, Rom 2:4, and we pray that she would truly taste and see that goodness and turn from sin to walk in the grace and truth of Christ. We pray that as you and others have planted and watered, God Himself would give the increase, for we plant and water but God gives the growth, 1 Cor 3:6-7, and all glory belongs to Him alone, Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give glory, for your loving kindness, and for your truth’s sake, Ps 115:1, and Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, Rev 7:10.
We thank the Father that His Word does not return void but accomplishes what He pleases, Isa 55:10-11. The seed is the Word of God, Mark 4:14, and we thank Him that seeds have been planted and are being watered. We ask Him to continue His faithful work in this wife’s heart, to bring fresh truth, to restrain evil, to convict of sin and righteousness and judgment by the Holy Spirit, John 16:8, and to carry on to completion the good work He has begun until the day of Jesus Christ, Phil 1:6, for from Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to Him be the glory forever, Rom 11:36.
We ask the Lord to continue to order the steps of the righteous, Ps 37:23, and to bring across her path those who will water the seed, speak truth in love, and show the kindness of God, just as He directed Philip to the Ethiopian reading Isaiah, Acts 8:26-31, and directed Ananias to Saul, Acts 9:10-11, and directed Paul through a vision to Macedonia, Acts 16:6-10. We pray this also for all who have heard the Word over these many months, for patriarchal and matriarchal figures, for progeny and posterity, that none would perish but all would come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9, for God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4, and He uses the prayers of His people to that end, 1 Tim 2:1-4.
We give thanks that the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart, Heb 4:12, and that the Father is always working and the Son is working, John 5:17. We believe that before honor comes humility, Prov 18:12, and we ask the Lord in His mercy to humble those who need humbling so that they may come to their senses, Dan 4:34, Dan 4:37, 2 Tim 2:26, as the prodigal came to himself, Luke 15:17, and as Hosea’s wife was hedged in that she might return, Hos 2:6-7, that the resulting sorrow would be godly sorrow that works repentance to salvation, 2 Cor 7:9-10.
We pray for a restoration of this marriage as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman for His glory, and for this wife to embrace her holy calling as a godly wife and mother, to love her husband and to love her children, to be sober minded, chaste, a worker at home, kind, being in subjection to her own husband that the Word of God may not be blasphemed, Titus 2:4-5. We pray for you who are planting to remain faithful, patient, and kind, not growing weary in well doing, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up, Gal 6:9.
We ask for protection over you, over her, over your children and progeny, over ministry partners and fellow servants and stewards of the mysteries of God, 1 Cor 4:1-2, that the Lord would keep you all from evil, deception, lies, temptation, and the evil one, and that you would receive a love of the truth that you may be saved, 2 Thes 2:10. We thank Him in advance, for whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive, Mark 11:24, for He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, Heb 11:6, and the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective, James 5:16.
We rejoice that you have asked all of this in the name of Jesus, for we have access to the Father only through Him, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me, John 14:6. Whatever we ask in His name, He will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son, John 14:13-14, for however many are the promises of God, in Him is the Yes and in Him the Amen to the glory of God through us, 2 Cor 1:20.
Father, we pray together now, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, that You would let Your kindness tenderly break and restore this wife’s heart, that she would repent and turn to You with her whole heart, that You would cause the planted Word to take deep root and bear fruit thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold, that You would guard her mind and heart in Christ Jesus, that You would make her a joyful mother of children who fears You, that You would strengthen this marriage to reflect Christ and the church, and that You would do far beyond all that we ask or think, Eph 3:20, and show us great and mighty things which we do not know, Jer 33:3, for Your glory alone. Amen.
