🕊️Kindness of God Lead Wife to Repentance ⏎ from Sin Rom 2:4, 🥜Planting+ 💦Watering=God's Growth 🌱1 Cor 3:6-7, His Glory in Salvation Ps 115:1

Your prayer for your wife reflects a heart that understands how God works and we join you in it. You are asking according to Scripture that the kindness of God would lead her to repentance as Romans 2:4 teaches, that the planting and watering of the Word would be met with the increase that only God can give as 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 says, and that all the glory for salvation would go to Him alone as Psalm 115:1 and Psalm 3:8 declare.

We agree with you that salvation belongs to the Lord and comes only through Jesus Christ. There is no other provision God has made for sin. Simply believing that God exists is not salvation. Salvation is believing into a vital, life changing relationship with Jesus Christ, trusting Him alone to forgive and to transform. That is the power of God unto salvation, and when that faith is real, life is changed.

That is why repentance is so central to what you are praying. John the Baptist preached a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, Jesus Himself called sinners to repentance, and He still calls His people to repent and turn. True repentance is not just sorrow or words, it is a change of heart and direction that God grants, a turning from sin to God that brings life as 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 describes. Where God has truly worked, there is fruit. As with David who confessed his sin was against God, and with Zacchaeus whose conversion was shown by his desire to make restoration, genuine faith shows itself in a changed life.

We thank God with you that His Word does not return void. As Isaiah 55:10-11 says, as rain and snow water the earth, so His Word accomplishes the purpose for which He sends it. The seed is the Word of God as Jesus taught in Mark 4, and you have been faithful to plant it. Others water, but God gives the growth. His Word is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword as Hebrews 4:12 says, and the Holy Spirit uses it to convict of sin and to point to Christ as Jesus promised in John 16:8. We can trust Him to continue the work He has begun until the day of Christ as Philippians 1:6 promises, for from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.

We also join you in praying for humility in her heart. Scripture says before honor comes humility, and God in His mercy humbles those who need to be humbled so they may come to their senses, as we see with Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4 who was brought low and then restored, and with the prodigal in Luke 15 who came to himself and returned home, and with Hosea's wife who was hedged in so she would turn back. God is patient, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance as 2 Peter 3:9 says, and He desires all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth as 1 Timothy 2:4 says. He orders steps and brings people across our paths to speak truth, as He did with Philip and the official reading Isaiah in Acts 8, with Ananias sent to Saul in Acts 9, and with Paul directed toward Macedonia in Acts 16.

Continue to pray with persistence and faith. Jesus taught persistence in prayer in Luke 18, God rewards those who diligently seek Him as Hebrews 11:6 says, and the fervent prayer of the righteous avails much as James 5:16 says. Ask with thanksgiving, believing God hears as Mark 11:24 says, and trust Him to do beyond what we ask or imagine as Ephesians 3:20 says, and to show great and mighty things as Jeremiah 33:3 says, all for His glory and in the name of Jesus.

We are praying that God in His kindness will grant your wife true repentance and a living faith in Jesus Christ, that He will guard you both from deception and evil and keep you in the love of the truth, that He will bring faithful people to water the seed that has been sown, and that He will be glorified in her salvation if it is according to His perfect will. We pray that any restoration would be according to His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, lived in holiness within that covenant, and that your home would be marked by the new life that only Christ gives.
