🕊️Kindness of God Lead Wife to Repentance ⏎ from Sin Rom 2:4, 🥜Planting+ 💦Watering=God's Growth 🌱1 Cor 3:6-7, His Glory in Salvation Ps 115:1

Your prayer for your wife reflects a heart that understands how God works and what He desires. Salvation belongs to the Lord alone, and He gets all the glory for it. It is not simply believing that God exists, which even those who are still lost may do, but believing into a living, life changing relationship with Jesus Christ. That is the power of God unto salvation, and only through Jesus has God made provision for sin.

That is why repentance is so central. The message from the beginning has been a call to repentance, to turn, to change. Jesus Himself said He came to call sinners to repentance, and He continues to call His people to turn fully to Him. True repentance is not just sorrow or words, it is a change of heart and direction that shows itself in a changed life. When that change is real, there is restoration, a turning away from what offends God and a turning toward Him.

You are right to hold to the promises that God's Word does not return empty. Like rain that waters the earth, His Word accomplishes the purpose for which He sends it. The Word is the seed, and it is living and active, able to pierce the heart and discern thoughts and intentions. Some plant, others water, but God alone gives the growth. That should encourage you to keep sowing and keep praying, trusting Him for the increase in His time.

Scripture shows that it is the kindness of God that leads to repentance, and that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment. God is patient, not wanting any to perish but for all to come to repentance, and He desires all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. He orders steps and brings the right truth across a person's path at the right moment, and He uses the prayers of His people as part of that work. The fervent prayer of those made righteous through faith in Christ is powerful and effective.

You also mentioned His humbling work, and that is biblical. Before honor comes humility. God in His mercy humbles those who need to be humbled so they may come to their senses, as the prodigal did when he finally saw his condition and returned home. That humbling is not to destroy but to restore, to bring a person to true godly sorrow that leads to life.

Continue to pray that the seeds already sown in your wife's heart, and in the hearts of others you love including the older and younger generations of your family, would be watered by others God brings across their paths. Pray that God would restrain evil and deception, guard them from the enemy and from lies, and cause them to love the truth so they may be saved. Pray that any good work He has begun He will carry on to completion until the day of Christ. He is always working, and He rewards those who diligently seek Him. He is able to do far beyond all we ask or imagine, and He hears prayer offered in the name of Jesus, in whom all the promises of God are yes and amen.

Salvation remains the greatest need any person has. Better than any other blessing is to have peace with God through Jesus. Keep asking the Lord to show His kindness to your wife in a way that leads her to that vital relationship with Christ, to genuine repentance and new life. Trust Him to be faithful to His Word and to finish what He has started for His own glory.
