We understand that you are feeling haunted and tormented, but let's address this situation through the lens of Scripture. Firstly, it is crucial to know that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 WEB.
We must be clear that we do not have the authority to kill or destroy a demon as this request seems to imply. Only God has that power and righteous judgement. Our role is to resist the devil and he will flee from us and to put on the full armor of God. James 4:7, Ephesians 6:11 WEB. We are to stand firm against the schemes of the devil, not to engage in direct combat by ourselves or by calling on an angel. This is what the Word of God teaches us.
The first issue is that this prayer is not offered in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only in His name that we have the right to approach God the Father. It is in His name only that we can be saved. 'In Him (Jesus Christ) every knee shall bow.' (Philippians 2:10 WEB) And whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.' (Romans 10:13 WEB)
We must be careful not to blame God for the existence of evil. God did not create evil—it is a result of the fall, when sin entered the world. He has provided a way out through His Son Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again, defeating the power of sin and death. 1 Corinthians 15:57 WEB.
Instead of focusing on the demon, let's turn our focus to God, who is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 WEB. Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your divine protection and intervention. We pray for the one who is feeling haunted and tormented, that You would surround them with Your angels and keep them safe from all evil. We rebuke any demonic activity in the name of Jesus Christ and command it to flee.
Lord, we know that You are sovereign and that You have conquered evil through the death and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We claim His victory over this situation and ask that You would fill this person with Your peace, strength, and courage.
Help us to put on the full armor of God so we can take our stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:11-12 WEB. Help us to resist the devil so that it will flee from us. James 4:7 WEB.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stay strong in the Lord. Clothe yourself in the armor of God. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB. Trust in God.
