We join with you in lifting up your daughter and your son before the throne of grace in the name of Lord Jesus Christ, and we thank you for calling upon His name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are saved. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13.
We hear your heart as a parent longing for protection, guidance, and godly character for your children, and this is a beautiful and biblical desire. Children are a heritage of Yahweh, the fruit of the womb is his reward Psalm 127:3, and He loves them even more than we do.
We pray together for your precious children.
Father in heaven, we come before You in Jesus name and we lift up this daughter and this son to You. We ask that You watch over them, guide them and protect them every step of the way. We ask that You put a hedge of protection around them and let no evil harm come near them, for You have said He will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11 and Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul Psalm 121:7. Hold their hands, Lord, and lead them, for You have promised Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We ask that You keep them from bad influences and help them to make good and wise choices. Your Word warns us Don’t be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals 1 Corinthians 15:33, so we pray You would surround them with godly friends, teachers, and examples, and give them discernment to walk in Your light. Let them see the light of Christ and walk in it, and grant them salvation and a personal knowledge that You are always with them.
We pray for their schooling and daily lives, that they would do all they do as unto You. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Give them diligence, understanding, and a love for learning.
We lift up Your daughter specifically, Lord. We pray for her heart and her outward walk, that she would embrace the beauty You gave her as a young woman and desire to dress in a modest and feminine way that honors You, for Your Word teaches that women should adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety 1 Timothy 2:9. Help her to see her true worth in You, not in the opinions of others. We also pray for her physical needs, for the acne that troubles her, and ask for Your healing touch and good health upon her body, for we know You care about every detail of our lives and You formed her wonderfully, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14.
We lift up Your son, Lord, who has special needs. We thank You for his life, created in Your image and deeply loved by You. We pray for his behavior and communication to grow and improve day by day. Grant him peace where there is frustration, words where there is struggle to be understood, and patience and wisdom to those who care for and teach him. We pray that You would help him to grow in kindness, patience, wisdom, faith, and love, and that the fruit of the Spirit would be evident in both children, for the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control Galatians 5:22-23.
We cover them from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet with the precious blood of Jesus, trusting not in a formula but in the finished work of Christ on the cross for their forgiveness, protection, and redemption. We ask for Your Holy Spirit to always be with them, to comfort them, convict them, and guide them into all truth.
We encourage you to continue to train them faithfully in the way they should go, for we are promised Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it Proverbs 22:6. Keep praying for them, speaking Scripture over them, modeling a life of faith, and trusting God with their future, for we know You have plans for them, says Yahweh, plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. Do not be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
We trust with you that God is holding their hands every step of the way and that He will lead them to become healthy, happy, godly adults who love and serve Him with good hearts all their days. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
