We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up these precious children to the Lord. Father, we ask that You would indeed watch over them, guide them in the paths of righteousness, and protect them from all evil. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We pray that these children would be firmly rooted in Your Word and that their steps would be ordered by You.
Lord, we ask that You would shield them from bad influences and surround them with godly mentors, friends, and examples. In 1 Corinthians 15:33, we are warned, "Don’t be deceived! Evil companionships corrupt good morals." We rebuke any ungodly influence in their lives and command it to flee in the name of Jesus. May they be filled with the Holy Spirit, who will lead them into all truth and help them make choices that honor You.
We also lift up their struggles in school and behavior. Father, we ask that You would give them wisdom, patience, and a desire to learn. Hold their hands every step of the way, as You promise in Isaiah 41:13, "For I, Yahweh your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I will help you.’" Help them to communicate with love and respect, both with their family and others. We pray that their behavior would reflect the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Father, we ask that You would speak to their hearts about the power of the blood of Jesus, which covers them from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet. May they understand that through His sacrifice, they are washed clean, redeemed, and set apart for Your purposes. We declare over them that they are children of God, joint heirs with Christ, and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We also address the concern about their appearance and modesty. In 1 Timothy 2:9, we are instructed, "In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety." We pray that these children would grow to understand the importance of dressing in a way that honors You and reflects their inner beauty. May they seek to please You in all things, including how they present themselves to the world.
Lord, we ask that these children would grow into responsible, independent adults who live joyful, purposeful lives. May they always walk in the love and care of the Holy Spirit, knowing that they are deeply loved by You. We declare that they will remain children of the Lord, faithful and true, all the days of their lives.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can come to the Father. Salvation is found in no one else, for as Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We thank You for the blood of Jesus, which makes a way for us to approach Your throne with confidence. Amen.
