Your honesty before God is heard, and the weight you are carrying is real. Raising two teenage daughters alone while living with the effects of a stroke since ###, without reliable transportation, and feeling that life only gets harder year after year would weary anyone. It is understandable that you feel frustrated and even ready to give up, and God is not pushed away by that kind of honest cry.
Prayer begins with relationship. Jesus taught that when we pray we come to God as Father, and that we have direct access to the Father through Him. He said the Father Himself loves you because you have loved Jesus and believed that He came from God. You do not need someone else to pray for you to get God's attention. Through faith in Jesus Christ you can speak to the Father yourself, and Jesus Himself is praying for you. In John 17 He prayed what is truly the Lord's Prayer, asking the Father to keep those who belong to Him, to make them one, and to keep them through His name. If you have come to believe in Jesus, you are included in that prayer. Even when you feel alone, you are not alone. The Father is with you, and the Son is interceding for you.
That same teaching shows us what prayer is and what it is not. Prayer is simply talking to the Father, not trying to impress Him or others with many words or long repetitions. Its power is not in how long we pray but in the earnest faith with which we come. And its purpose is not to make God do our will, but to bring our hearts into alignment with His will. Prayer moves in a circle. It begins with God and His purposes, He puts those desires in our hearts, we offer them back to Him, and He accomplishes them. That is why Jesus gave us the model prayer that begins, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. It starts with worship and with Your kingdom come, Your will be done, before it ever asks for daily bread.
This helps explain why some prayers feel unanswered. God does hear and He does answer, but His answer is sometimes yes, sometimes wait, and sometimes no. He is a caring Father who knows what we need for tomorrow and the next day, and He will care for us each day. There are prayers we later thank Him for not answering as we asked, because we see the trouble that answer would have brought. The Father desires to give to His children, and prayer opens the door for Him to do what He has wanted to do all along, but He gives what is best according to His wisdom and love, not simply what we demand in the moment. The joy of prayer is not only in getting what we ask, but in spending time with the Father and seeing Him work in His way and time.
You mentioned forgiveness. Jesus emphasized this one part of the model prayer more than any other. He said if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. This does not mean we earn forgiveness by forgiving, but it shows the heart of someone who has truly received God's forgiveness. When we have been forgiven so much through Jesus, we learn to release others. If bitterness toward enemies is growing in your heart because you feel God has not repaid you, bring that to the Father honestly and ask Him to help you forgive as you have been forgiven. An unforgiving heart makes prayer cold and heavy.
You asked where is the action if love is an action word. God has already acted in the greatest way possible. He so loved the world that He gave His Son, and Jesus submitted to the Father even to the cross to pay for our sins. That is the proof that the Father loves you. His love is not measured by whether transportation appears immediately or circumstances improve on our timetable. He sees in secret, He hears the cry of His children, and He rewards openly in His perfect way. He is not distant. Because Jesus has gone to the Father, the way is open for you to be heard every time you call.
Please do not wash your hands of Jesus. He has not washed His hands of you. He is the only way to the Father, and to see Him is to see the Father's heart toward you. Keep coming to the Father in Jesus' name, simply and honestly, even with short prayers from a weary heart. Tell Him about the stroke, the needs of your daughters, the lack of transportation, the discouragement that nothing gets better. Ask for His will to be done and for daily bread for today.

You know his body, his weariness, his long years of asking, his need for help and for transportation, and his love for his girls. Reveal Yourself to him as Father, assure him of Your love through Jesus, and help him to know that Jesus is praying for him.
