Keep Eating after Day One...

I have been attempting to go on a successive fast of five days. My main goal is to be a vessel prepared for the master's use (2 Tim 2:21-22). I have vocal auditions Monday, and am auditioning in obedience to God's revealed will for my life.

I have been going about 24 hours then blowing it regarding eating. At this point, if I could do a two day fast it would be a miracle. Not that one day fasts aren't valid, but I feel I should fast at least three (3) days.

"But He gives more grace, therefore it says, 'God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble'" (James 4:4). Please ask the Lord to give me more grace, discipline & vision for fasting, not to earn anything, but as any son would like to obey his parent, who sent His only begotten Son who fasted 40 days, to obey in such a small matter after having so stellar an example of preparation for ministry set by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please pray I am protected from the evil one, temptation to eat, smells from my roommates' cooking, and just the pattern and habit of necessary eating.

Lord, I pray You give Intercessor sufficient grace for what You are calling him to do. I pray for succesful vocal auditions Monday. in Jesus Name. amen

Father, be Doug's sustenance and strength. Guide him to a place of fasting beyond what is happening around him. Lead his soul to a quiet inner sanctuary filled with Your peace, comfort, strength and revelation. Fill him so fully in You that he longs for nothing else. Prepare his heart, mind and soul for what You have called him to do. In Jesus' name, I praise Your holy faithfulness and ask You to grant Doug favor and success in his fasting, preparation and audition. Amen.
